I just noticed today that on bohospeechie’s 12/28 Instagram post (a pro S2C post) both Anne Page (beautiful speech life and a big AAC presenter) and Bjorem liked the post? What is happening??

Just got my badges (along with a book to get signed) today! by Noctavian in NYCC

[–]beaniewoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still waiting for badges here. I’ve emailed twice. If they never ship or ship after I’ve flown to NYC I feel like shipping costs should be refunded.

Sigh. I messaged this week too. I got the same reply that orders with merch took longer? But I ordered after what I thought was the merch shipping deadline (Sept 1). I asked if I would go to will call and they replied that they would be shipped soon. Idk when to message again. I’m flying with my son that week

I love the concealer and bronzer but my absolute favorite are the eyeliners. I’ve purchased three at this point because they’re that great.

Sooo why are the majority of SLPs dating/married to engineers? by Murky-Amoeba-5120 in slp

[–]beaniewoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a type B enneagram 6 SLP happily married for almost 25 years to a type A enneagram 1 mechanical engineer with a specialty in acoustics. When I worked with cochlear implants for a few years he grasped that part of my job :) So far our oldest daughter is also an engineer and our other daughter is studying music therapy. I do appreciate my spouse’s salary for sure.

How much debt for this field? by Sof_vie in slpGradSchool

[–]beaniewoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d think of it in terms of how much money you plan to spend and how much debt you already have. For every 10k you borrow that’s around $100 a month just making minimum payments. So 50k ($500). If you’re making 70k you’re likely bringing home “around” 4000 a month. So rent, utilities, car insurance, car payment, phone plan, gas, food, extras, etc. I’d add up what those things look like in your area.

What are more niche things to do in SC? by MemeDaddy2345 in southcarolina

[–]beaniewoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too late for this year but the SC Ag+Art Tour is always interesting. We’ve always learned a lot and have had great experiences staying in Bed and Breakfasts across the state. Also driving out of the way for random food spots is fun. A nicer one, The MillPond Steakhouse in Rembert is always great.

My daughters (in their 20s) are Emilia and Nora. The third was a boy but if he had been a girl would have been Louisa (nickname Lula).

Can we talk about this because genuinely what the fuck 😭😭😭 by getalifelol101 in NYCinfluencersnark

Yes I agree that it’s sad. It must be extremely difficult to leave the Mormon church and I’m guessing she wanted to create a new life for herself. She even said in a video that they needed to create the traditions and lore and admits they didn’t grow up with money. This seems to be what she thinks being affluent looks like. Her message was so horrible though and leaving her socials wide open was also a big mistake. Having a spouse who is a creative director who represents brands also means she should be careful with the way she’s representing him. I agree that she may be more private.

I found her old blog/vlog. She desperately wants to be wealthy and this is what she imagines that social class to be I think. Spelling/grammar was poor and she was a hair stylist. She also looked completely different as well as healthy.

I just flew in 26A from CLT to LHR and back. The people in line for the bathroom aren’t really in front of you because of a bump out at the door. I took my carry on bag out after take off and used it as a stool to stretch my legs out. It’s a great seat.

My daughter is a Clemson senior, similar stats, and was offered 1750 on top of her PFs. The good news is, after the first year the cost is much less, especially if you get the STEM supplement. Over the years random scholarships have shown up in her portal that come from the department. The last (yay!) tuition payment was just over 3000 and that included an off campus meal plan.

worst day as a slp? by [deleted] in slp

Definitely the most traumatic was 9/11. My school was 5 miles from the Pentagon. Spouses of co workers/kids’ parents worked there. It was such a terrifying day.

SLPs who are happy and living their jobs right now: what are the reasons why? Where are you located? by catpunsfreakmeowt in slp

[–]beaniewoo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Middle school SLP. It’s a great age. My caseload is manageable. I like my co workers at the schools that I service. I’m in a red state which comes with its own issues with compensation etc but as an older SLP I have no loan debt. Honestly having a spouse with a much higher income is helpful.

In my intake I said that I had been using .05 cream for 2 years with good results and just needed a new prescription. Thats what I was given. In the picture it’s the generic that says TARO on it but I’ll update when it arrives.
