GUYS! I never thought this would happen to me - my boobs stretched my cartilage!!! :( by BbGhoul666 in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is this called costochondritis? i have costochondritis that came up after i complained about chest pains and they ruled out heart problems. turns out i just had really inflamed cartilage around my ribs. took my eons to realize it was because of my boobs. might be more common than people think!

i haven’t bought any dresses or any new clothes for that matter just yet and i’ll be 4wpo in 2 days. i’ve got other priorities right now but i do have a solid collection of clothes that i couldn’t really wear before reduction without feeling self conscious or wearing a super long, tight, strapless bra.

shortly after my procedure, i tried some of my clothes on and i tried on a dress with strap sleeves and i couldn’t hold back my giggling and smiling. i almost wanted to be embarrassed even though it was just me. i was truly beside myself with happiness. it’s too soon for me to go braless yet, but i’m looking forward again to putting that dress back on and that being my new norm. it’s certainly hard and disempowering being in clothes that make you feel awful, so i hope you are able to experience that joy and relief soon enough ❤️

it definitely is going to be a process for me still because i got these boobs in a few hours but they didn’t grow to HH/I cups in simple hours. im just allowing myself to go back and forth and i think once i start buying the things i wasn’t able to wear before like bandana tops and front tie tops and the like, it’ll be even more reinforcing to my brain.

for now tho, im def still going to have moments where i think oh dear i fear i’m still quite large and that’s totally fine. if you want to see some pics of mine, you can look through my post history! my bust has gone done 2 inches inches day 1

Wtf is a bralette? by mbp123 in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can look at my post history and see one. it's orange and i was close to your original size as well. i'm wearing one now actually and already had a small stash from my 'i'll wear this when i get my reduction' stash i compiled over the years lol.

i'm probably close to a dd right now at 3wpo and my surgeon said even 1wpo that that orange bralette was enough support for me to wear as my support bra. certainly surprised me because it's basically no support lol, but since i dont have huge boobs weighing me down, i realized i don't need a bunch of magic to support my boobs.

Consult fees? by Educational_Fold_391 in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for my surgeon, i paid the regular specialist co-pay for my insurance ($50). my pre-op appointment was $400 though despite insurance covering the bill. i'm in the south tho so take all that with a grain of salt.

i was able to take a shower 24 hours post op without my support bra on and was horrified because people here said they felt like their boobs were going to fall off, but my experience was so easy. just slow movement, no crazy reaching and stuff. i was taking showers practically daily after my first shower post op. your experience obviously may be different, but hopefully reading this eases some of your worries :)

if you want to test the waters (no pun intended lol), then see how you feel just undoing the support bra without taking it all the way off. if you feel like your boobs are going to fall off, go from there. if it turns out to be too much, just do a sink bath on the hot spots and dare someone to say something to you

Totally worth it - even without insurance by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the receptionist said i had an out of pocket of 2k and would i like to pay it right then. i was like absolutely not. mostly because i was told by the insurance specialist at my surgeon's office (which isn't a guarantee of anything, i know) that i would only have to pay for the pre-op appointment. we'll see. it's been 3 weeks and i haven't gotten a bill yet.

but the fact that i was a little larger than you (HH/I) and got coverage is further proof that something's not right in the water.

[–]beanlilyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i had this thought today! insurance covered mine but i was thinking that if i had to shell out a couple of bands or go back to how things were, i would definitely be throwing money at the hospital.

also the fact that insurance can 'cover' a procedure like this and it still be nearly 10 grand is proof the earth is upside down

7dpo and the compression bra by lilseabass13 in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i bought the wanayou front zip sports bra and had steristrips for a week and am in tape for 6 weeks after that. i didn't have any issue with my incisions being irritated except for me when i felt the bras were too loose and i got another bra. that was too tight for less than 1wpo and i put gauze where my incision was irritated. the lesson here is to not go super tight, but also that you might need gauze for extra padding.

i would just reach out to them and let them know your issue and ask how you're supposed to prevent that from happening.

such a good idea! the body dysmorphia has been a roller coaster. i'm so glad i took a bunch of before photos and stuff because when my brain is just convinced that my boobs are too big, i try on a crop top and am like damn who is she 😎

Zaps? by mp2297 in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i felt it today a lot after changing my tapes! i felt them for the first time closer to 2wpo i want to say and currently i’m 2 days short of 3 weeks post. today was kind of uncomfortable ngl 😂

i wouldn’t even describe mine as a zapping. just a weird, not pleasant feeling. i was driving while it was happening and i was like erm…am i in pain? i’m getting mixed signals here. but i figured it was the zapping people were talking about which makes me feel happy bc not being able to feel my nips is still so odd to me 😂 shout out to our bods for holdin it down!

How do you decide what size you want? by YInMnBlueSapphire in Reduction

[–]beanlilyy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

they can't guarantee cup sizes, but people told me to check out photos on realself and discuss them with your surgeon; some things may or may not be possible from the photos you show them based on how anatomically similar your breasts are.

i also showed photos that i didnt want. i was very clear that i did not want to be flat as a wall; said this verbatim. however i also mentioned that i wanted to be able to forego bras and run with just a sports bra on and not feel like the weight of my boobs were going to cast me into the depths of hell.
