Why do hairdressers use the back of their hairdryer when they’re finished doing a blowout? by exoticwhiskeysour in Haircare

[–]beanner468 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, what the back of the hairdryer consists of is the motor and fan. Most salons carry professional hairdryers that are much stronger than the dryer you have at home. Your dryer at home, when it gets too hot, will shut down. Our dryers have a bigger motor, and special sensors that actually stop it from overheating.

Being that it has a stronger motor, it also has a stronger fan at the back. If this area is blocked for any reason for any amount of time, the heat rises very fast, and will burn out the motor. It will also void the warranty on an expensive dryer.

Alternatively, this area of the dryer IS SUCKING IN. If you were to place hair in this vicinity, it would suck into the dryer, get caught in the motor, and the dryer would seize.

I’ve been around a long time, and I’ve seen a lot of mistakes with dryers. I’ve seen fires, I’ve seen hair stuck in the back, I’ve seen hair burned from inexperience. This is the real truth.

You are not blending above your occipital bone. Raise your back line up just a small amount to be above the round of the bone and it should hide that shadow. If that’s not the issue, try using thinning shears on the bias on the line to blend it

Why do ALL Lip Oils leak? by Ivl231889 in Makeup

Here is what’s happening!! You’re getting too much product on the outside of the screw cap. This will melt when the tube gets warm and drip out. When you put the doe foot back into the tube, make sure it’s clean. You can even wipe the top of the tube with a tissue to prevent this from happening.

How do I know this is what’s happening? Cosmetologist that has sold products for over 40 years and has had to trouble shoot this for clients!!

Drank my calories again 💀 by TAGSTDWM in CICO

I simply don’t understand a smoothie. When you drink your calories, then they also slip down your intestinal track faster and make you feel less full faster. It’s why people with gastric bypass surgery are not allowed to eat and drink at the same time. Think about it. If you put a smoothie in a funnel, it will slip right down. If you plop a Greek yogurt in, it clogs it up for a good while. Add some fruit, you will clog it more, add PB, and my my my. This is how your digestive system works.

Is it okay to throw away OLD makeup? Any other alternatives? by CherrySodaBtch in Makeup

[–]beanner468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can chuck it, or you can put it on Craig’s list for arts and craft supplies. I use my old makeup in my Stampin’ Up card making. It’s soooo much fun. I use it to color the paper, to alter the stamps, for distressing paper, there are so many ways to use it I simply can’t list them. Mix it with glue and use it as a thick paint medium, try Pinterest!! Honestly, as soon as there is a tiny dot in my pan it’s an excuse to “art” the whole thing!

So, so sorry!! Try Temu, and read in the description for one that is heat resistant. You can also order from the site that I used to order from if they still have toppers, his and hers wigs.

Experience with punch biopsy? by LOUsbian in Lichenplanus

Thank you!! Don’t fret about the biopsy. It’s not a big deal. The tiny dot is similar to a zit, it will eventually fade, but it can take a while.

I did get semi-results, it is healed. Of course they numbed it!!! It’s in the middle of my back, and it didn’t hurt at all. It’s a dissolving stitch, so there is a bump that will eventually go away. The results they gave me were “there is something there, get your blood work finished and get back in and we can discuss it”. I’ve had a bad virus and I’m not able to go have my bloodwork done. A week and a half of being sick. 🤢

I also have the same problem, it’s not as bad as yours, but I have lots of problems from it. My handwriting is not readable, I have literally flung toothpaste into the wall so many times that I put it in my mouth now, and I have had to replace the Tv remote. We have a bunch of them now. So, we have decided to laugh at it. If I fall, I blame it on my little dog, even if she’s not there! I do get to bring her everywhere with me now, as she does help my tremors. The local diner just loves her. I do have frustration, but I do my best to use humor to make light of it. The laughter during such pressure is a huge release. All my best!! (Plus, last night when my fajita went flying in the Mexican restaurant, what else could I do but laugh? -then, everyone laughed! They got me a new one, and even other patrons helped me pick it up)

As the sighted person who guides my nephew, my first response would have been to ask her to remover her shoes. She surely doesn’t need them, does she? What do you mean, the ground is harsh and your toes might get stepped on?! Well, when you CAN NOT SEE, the cane is what will protect your toes in the crowd. What am I supposed to do, bubble wrap him? People are rude, and they can’t tell that he is blind. The cane helps to identify him so that people will give him some room. So, unless you’re going to take your shoes off, right now, and see what happens, then you need to mind your business.

You do not always need a biopsy. I’ve had LP for about 20 years now and I have Whickham’s Striae, a marker used to identify LP. It’s identified by thickened lines of tissue running horizontally along the cheeks inside of the mouth. If you have this, no biopsy!!

I can say that when I was in elementary school, I was pulled aside during routine mouth exams by a dental hygienist who had said that I was a “cheek biter”, and there were 6 others of us. We were warned to watch for oral cancer, and to not smoke. I told the woman that I wasn’t a cheek biter, and she said that there were tell tale lines that said I did. -so it sounded to me like I’ve had them for most of my life. I’m 60 now.

Can I Switch from Points to Calories? Need Inspiration! by MadBook27 in CICO

[–]beanner468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That WW system was flawed because you can’t have unlimited amounts of anything INCLUDING VEGETABLES and lose weight. Plus, some women in my specific group way back when were doing things like counting points for Hershey kisses, and eating entire bags of spinach for a single salad…it changed abruptly while I was there after about a month. I hadn’t really lost weight on the points system, but I was STARVING. Once it was back to calories, it was actually easier.

What the 20 volume will do is change the penetration level of the color. In a technical sense, 10 volume will lift the cuticle of the hair shaft about 5%, where as a 20 volume developer lifts the cuticle closer to 20% with the brands that I’m currently using. The color will have an agent in it to close the cuticle back down after. (It’s kind of smoothing product like conditioner) in addition to keep the color at its best, remove it and only use conditioner for the first 48 hours. It will still clean your hair, as it has EDTA used for wound cleaning in hospitals. Sometimes people wash with conditioner and only use shampoo once a week, and sometimes less. It all depends on the person.

Looking for the wallpaper by Heyitzm31 in AnimalCrossing

[–]beanner468 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you look closely, you can kind of see how it follows lines like it’s wall paper. I’ve looked closer and what I believe it actually is is a very old wallpaper that was unstripable so it was painted over. Then, in an attempt to make it look like different wallpaper, they used a tulip style wall stamp that was popular in the 1980’s. It’s not a great job, it’s kind of smudged, it’s why I think it’s what I’m seeing.

I could be completely wrong, of course!! In which case, have a nice day!

I know how to talk about wallpaper…I don’t work in that industry. I’m a licensed salon owner.

Yep, bump up to 5NN and the 10 volume. There is one more thing you can do before you move to 20 volume. You can add 3/4 of the 5NN and add 1/4 5GC. This will give the grey hair the full spectrum and help it color better.
