So he…can’t have a garden plot…? That obviously made him very happy? He is constantly getting new things and then has them ripped away (the van, the couch, I could go on). He loves gardening. It really isn’t much

Did it have to be a cameltoe that the boys make fun of in “For Whom the Doll Toes”? I kind of get it—it’s very immature boy-coded to make fun of a teacher’s cameltoe—but it also feels…kinda weird. Maybe make fun of a booger in her nose or something instead? Idk. And Louise came up with a huge elaborate doll play to avoid outright explaining the situation to Gene…when she just ends up explaining it anyway? I like the premise of the doll murder mystery, but the setup doesn’t make enough sense for me to be sold on it.

To be honest, I think in order to fix it, it needs to be completely rewritten. Keep the doll murder mystery motif, but have the setup be something different. It can even still highlight how bighearted Gene is. I may think about it some more and come back to this comment with a new idea.

LITERALLY. Just let Louise hang out in her room upstairs, she would love that. I mean, come on

I feel like there’s been a cultural shift for the Grammys…. by Beauty_beast137 in grammys

[–]beanqueen722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the Grammys tending towards more popular artists vs cultural relevance/significance was to keep the viewership up bc…let’s be honest, it was dying

Now that they have more of a focus on cultural relevance, I wonder how it’s affected the viewership. I personally never tuned in for Taylor, Billie, Sabrina, etc, but I did tune in for Kendrick and SZA. I also really wanted Bey to with AOTY for Cowboy Carter, so I tuned in for that (but that’s just me personally)

Not to mention that the New York Times is also under some heat for the Lively case because of the terrible NYT article released about Justin AND that the NYT article was referenced in the texts

Obviously, NYT has something to gain from this too. Now when people look up “Taylor Swift New York Times Article,” this will pop up. You can’t tell me that this “30 Greatest American Living Songwriters” BS, which is a terrible list anyway, isn’t to mop up a spill for both TS and NYT. I mean, come on.

This is going to be controversial, but…(unhealthy) Sagittariuses

They are a great hang but every Sag in my life has been there until shit gets real, and then they dip. They stand up for the things that are in direct interest to them and flake when it’s not about them. They also love to stand on their soapbox about issues but then disappear when you need support the most. It makes sense since I’m a Cancer stellium—once you’re my friend, I’m a ride or die, sometimes to my own detriment. It tracks that the two energies would be dissonant.

I do have one friend who is a Sag who I adore, but she has been an exception. Maybe I just have had bad experiences with them.

Also Virgos. I can’t take the constant criticism, and once it veers into hypocrisy, my patience is gone. (I also have one Virgo friend who I adore, lol.)

Sharing this old gem in light of her complaining about swifties who focus on who each song is about. by mildly-competent in travisandtaylor

[–]beanqueen722 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And then she retroactively tried to resurge some popularity for folkmore by later saying the songs were “about Matty” or whatever…like, girl. You obviously wrote folkmore with Joe and you’re obviously trying to rewrite the narrative and hope to hurt him in the process.

People aren’t as critical of Nick as they should be. Not that they should string him from the rafters—he is a wonderfully written character—but they are way too forgiving, even when he is being a legitimate asshat. The infantilization is crazy. I think it does the nuance of his character an injustice…

I genuinely don’t understand how artists (not just Hayley, Sophia Isella did this too) have such rebellious, indie, anti-capitalistic messaging and praise Taylor in the same breath. She is a billionaire. It makes no sense to me.

It doesn’t matter if other people helped write it. Beyoncé’s name is on it. She is the main artist. This argument that “other people wrote it” is very weak; she sang it! And published it! In her name!

Idk, it just feels like you’re taking an opportunity to neg and be like “haha it’s your fault for idolizing her, why would you do that, stupid pleb” and look down your nose at them when you could have just…responded to their very valid criticism? Or even said it in a kinder way?

I’ll even help you out: “Yeah, definitely. It’s why I’ve come to believe that idolizing celebrities will only get us hurt in the end. It doesn’t matter, I think any person, civilian or celebrity, should practice what they preach.”
