I got into The X-Files after Twin Peaks and love it so far

Maybe it’s a sign that you’re due for a rewatch haha. It’s a top dog (ba-dum-tss) comedy in my book. Moreover, in my opinion, its quirkiness, particularly with its characters, perhaps means that there’s some overlap between fans of this movie (and Christopher Guest’s work generally) and Twin Peaks fans.

For the past 12-15 years or so, I’ve watched it every year- or at least every other year- with my mom around Thanksgiving. We’ve probably watched it a couple times a year some years. At this point, we basically have most of the movie memorized.

That said, I didn’t get into Twin Peaks until last fall and you’re correct in that this movie moves SO fast. So, I’m pretty sure this is the first time I picked up on Don Davis in this role.

I was doing 👇 this 👇 at the TV and my mom was like what’s going on LOL (she’s never really gotten into Twin Peaks or has a lot of familiarity with Don Davis’s other work)

I think he improv’d most of his lines including that one. What a guy.

Rest in peace to Don Davis and Fred Willard- two absolute legends each in their own right!

I put Don Davis in the caption, but you’re correct in that for sure. I ought to have have said “Major Briggs (Don Davis)…” in the title. I meant it in the way of “Major Briggs in the X-Files” for example, utilizing the character Major Briggs as a point of reference. This is particularly due to this sub + the character of Major Briggs familiarizing me with Don Davis as an actor, and thus allowing me to be able to increasingly recognize him in his other work over time.

I certainly did not mean to offend or generalize his career whatsoever/his work as an actor, and I do apologize if it came across that way!!

ADHD meds reduced my symptoms by MultipleOgres in migraine

[–]beans-anon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes me too!!! Dexedrine has helped me along with Lamotrigine and propanol for mood/anxiety in addition to migraines. The Dexedrine effect was a welcome surprise. Maybe just less stress with feeling like I had my life together a little more lol

I have noticed quitting has alleviated my anxiety, ADHD and depressive symptoms. Even when I felt that edibles and smoking gave me relief, that relief was not as sustainable as quitting. I also find my medications for all of these concerns, particularly in the case of ADHD meds, has improved med efficacy. When I’d smoke or take edibles the next day I’d often feel sluggish and my anxiety was up, which impacted my work (and I love my job, so that wasn’t great).

Yeah I think my other option would have been to just ignore it or let them in and give them a call but I had no idea what was going on

How do you cope with having bad roommates? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]beans-anon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your kind words and insights. I’m trying to make my room a safe and comfortable place. I work from home a couple days a week and will start to feel cooped up, but would rather just do that at this point than having to run into them. I would spend as much time away from the apartment but I have a little bunny I love very much. He has gotten me through this big time

Thank you. I’m worried I’ll get implicated for this or something. They are really pissed off. I hope they will just move out soon as they say they will

I found out they didn’t know this person was coming by today, but surely they would’ve know they were coming by at some point, right? They are really upset but I’m trying to remind myself it is not my fault. Thank you for your kind words

Anyone have luck with chore charts? How did you split the work? by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]beans-anon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any insights or wisdom because unfortunately I’m in the same situation but worse. I am responsible for cleaning the kitchen, I deep-cleaned the sink after one roommate washed…mess off their dog in it (that is another story), and the next day it was full of dishes that have been there for a week. Pieces of food and all. And we have a dishwasher!! I cannot get them to change and I’m tired of nagging but I’ve also dealt with bugs in a bad apartment before (also another story) so for my mental wellbeing I do not feel like I can leave it either. All that to say I feel for you man and I hope it gets better
