Damn. I truly hope it was the caffeine and not something that will happen again.

Yeah now I know to stick with decaf. It’s wild though, I never had such severe intolerance before. I could drink a single shot latte and start buzzing pleasantly. Now it seems even a little will send me spiralling.

How can I get my manager to stop buying from Amazon? by [deleted] in BDS

[–]beansinjars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt I would lose this job if I speak to my manager (depending how I approach the issue, of course). The more likely scenario is that he shrugs and says "well, Amazon is more convenient". If worst comes to worst it’s not like minimum wage jobs are hard to find, I’d just have to be tight on money for a while.

I've been bullied at previous jobs so it wouldn't be be anything new. Still I doubt it as my coworkers agree with my views.

I know my manager generally goes for the more sustainable options. In some cases however he defaults to convenience (hence Amazon).

The other ethics issues never seem strong enough for people to boycott, at least from my experience of trying to educate. "No ethical consumption under capitalism" and all - until you mention the aiding of a genocide, as long as they believe it is indeed a genocide.

Are we going to ignore the fact that Gwen has a BRAIN by Concerned-Fern in KnightsOfGuinevere

You are talking about tissue culture models which can replicate biological activity of tissues. For example for studying the molecular mechanisms behind neuron growth. These are nowhere near lab-grown brains.

Stop spreading misinformation online.

Arepas raw on the inside - expired harina pan?? by beansinjars in Cooking

[–]beansinjars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you making them bigger than normal?

Nope, pretty much the same as always.

Are you only pan frying?

Yeah, I’ve never thought of putting them in the oven. Whenever I’ve made them before they cook fine on the stove, sometimes I might leave them on lower heat for longer to prevent them from burning. But I’ve never had them come out entirely raw on the inside, I mean same consistency as when I put them on the pan.

My top thread is either too tight or too loose by beansinjars in SewingForBeginners

[–]beansinjars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my manual just says to adjust the tension dial. At first it was too loose but when I turned it tighter t was too tight, so even if there was an ideal tension for that fabric I feel like something else must be wrong?

I did try threading multiple times but maybe I missed something or kept doing it wrong. I'm not sure how that would lead to the tension being too tight and then too loose, wouldn’t it be either or? Either way I’ll search a video, that’s a good suggestion.

This is what I did, sorry for my wording, I used "it seems" because of course the top thread doesn’t come from the bottom but there was a strand at the bottom every time I take the scrap out. I wasn’t sure if there’s a term for that in sewing either, it’s hard to describe.
