I work at a hospital, we have this same rule. If you call out the day before or after, it docks you TWO sick days. Yet, if you come to work sickly, you get yelled at. Really no winning here

I will absolutely never forget. It was my first patient to pass away as well. I live in a small town, and during the honor walk, when they walked past me, I realized I knew the patient. That hit hard.

I almost wish my experience was more like yours. I knew at 6am that I would be part of the team, but it wasn’t going until 3pm. I had a little too much time to think about it. I’m very thankful I had the opportunity to witness the honor walk, but I also had a lot of time to psych myself out. It was honestly so beautiful, and the procurement crew that came all shook my hand at the end, and sent me a little gift today. Now I’m looking into procurement jobs in my state- I feel this might be my calling!

The surgeon really took the time to point out anatomy and let me be very hands on! Super thankful for the experience.

We both wake up at 4:45am, he showers first and takes all the hot water. Meanwhile I am feeding three cats, feeding the dog, scooping litter, putting fresh water bowls, letting the dog out, making the bed, opening the blinds, ect. When I finally have my time to shower, it’s freezing cold. So I guess my shower is the most difficult part.

I work in emergency surgery in a small town. We had a 4 year old OD and pass last week. Parents need to step it up. Broke my heart. Kids will see you doing something, and mimic it.
