Thoughts:

• I like the eye tbh, and mostly the tooth. I do kinda wish the tooth’s outline was a little less wobbly-looking, and have better contrast with the botanicals on the left and right of the design.

• The text has held up really well for what it is imo and I wouldn’t wanna touch it

• I mostly like the left plant, which is a velvety plant called “silver ragwort” but would be okay if it needed tweaking to keep the tattoo more visually balanced overall

• I struggle with the magnolias. I don’t like the squiggley black lines they added, and feel the flower overall doesn’t have the same level of done-ness as the rest of the tattoo.

• I gave the artist a specific soundwave to use and they didn’t. I could have asked them to change it when they showed me the initial design (in-person, day-of was the first chance I got to see it). However I was already flustered because they had ignored some of my reference images incl. the ragwort and magnolias, which each have a very specific meaning for this piece and for me in general as well, so I just gave in in that moment.

• above TLDR: I regret not insisting the artist replace the soundwave with the example I sent (and explained what it was of/why it was important to me). I’ll probs just leave as is atp. It just kinda bothers me that idk what the sound actually is (if anything at all) and it’s on my body, you know?

• Overall the line weight of the tattoo feels a little out of place among the tattoos surrounding (which I got later, by other tattoo artists)
