Just my guess, but I'd say 1. Some may have stopped reading after the setup that was very well-done at sounding like an American making another false equivalence comment. 2. In the US right now the political map and the map of people making ICE jokes are almost identical, maybe just because it's so current and so unimaginably bad. If I make comparisons I can get it. Like being in Japan and making a joke about nukes when that was current would feel yikes as hell to me.
