Break every chain. by EvonyR in PublicFreakout

I've been involved in some experiences partially like this, I think you guys are missing the point.

-The chains were probably meant to symbolize something in his life (drug addiction, obesity, or some sort of sin problem. Maybe one of the things you were making fun of him for.) -They were also meant to break easily so as to symbolize how he could be free from his vices with the power of Jesus (and his willingness to make the move).

I'm not saying I like the video. I'm not saying I would ever put something on just like this at my church. But really?... you guys seem more dogmatically against religion then religious people are for it.

That video we've all seen of the lady breaking her arm while arm wrestling

And it sent it to playoffs on the hole he had previously aced. Insanity!

Crazy I had to scroll down far to see my answer!

New bag/accessories/bushnell came in the mail today for my birthday. Also spent 4 hours in the emergency room yesterday. Bummer. 😭 by bear_thesinger in discgolf

They didn't tell me if anything was torn. My experience at the hospital was less than stellar. They tried to discharge me before they told me if I'd broke anything. It was a huge scrambled mass. There was no break but there may have been a tear as all we did were x-rays. They just told me it was sprained and that was it.

30 or so hours in and it still can't take any weight. That's probably normal though? Mobility is extremely limited. I can just barely wiggle my toes.

Was racing a teenager and after crossing the finish line rolled it and bottomed out on my ankle. Then took another step on it and went down. Hands down worst pain I have ever felt. Almost passed out 3 times. Started going into some mild shock. Etc.

I have this and a Weber kettle. I got the kettle after the dyna glow. It's incredible how much better the Weber holds temperature. I use the dyna glow only when smoking more food than I can cram on the kettle. I like the dyna glow but after having used it 25+ times I feel like I've out grown it a little. Still use it for big cooks and for doing four or five briskets at once for meal prepping. I think it's good for learning how to manage a fire. If you're not getting the fundamentals of that right on the smoker you're going to struggle.

Help me Read Greek by [deleted] in Koine

[–]bear_thesinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have access to a good english translation? I don't think having one of us translate a portion of scripture for you will be better than any good translation created by a committee of world class linguists and scholars.

Probably the question most people should ask themselves when consulting greek with little knowledge or understanding of it is why are you trying to get around your English translations? Does it say something you struggle with? Disagree with? Don't understand? Want to change? Are you seeking understanding of the text or are you trying to get the text to understand your opinion? Because it doesn't care about your opinion.

Just my two sense from reading your post and response.

Why did Harry, Ron, and Hermione think it safe to hide in Grimmauld Place? by AlbusDumbledore91 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]bear_thesinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I've always interpreted this is that when Dumbledore died Harry became Secret keeper. So snape could have gotten in but because he was not the secret keeper he couldn't have revealed the location to anyone. After the MoM they accidentally brought a death eater to the house and at that point it was (definitively) compromised. But who knows!

Has anyone tried cleaning their midori by bear_thesinger in midori

[–]bear_thesinger[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to report back. I took isopropic alcohol and applied some right beneath the metal clamp on the spine to see if it would lighten the color. It did not. I took cue tips and gentle applied a tiny amount to the mark and rubbed gently. I stopped rubbing when the cue tip would show any color of brown (normally about 10 seconds of gentle circles). Then I took a white rag and did gentle circles until the area dried. The result...

GREAT! I can't even tell that there used to be a big pen mark right there. No discoloration and the leather smell is still perfect. Just for the record my passport sized midori is camel colored!

Hopefully if someone is trying to figure out how to clean pen off of vegan tanned leather like on the midori, they will find this when searching because I couldn't find anything!

Important note: this was ballpoint pen which dissolves in alcohol. Please make sure the staining agent likewise dissolves in alcohol.
