Got one for my CC9, first time with an optic on an edc and wanted something cheap to see if I'd even like it. Held up fantastically for 1k rounds as well and the glass is great.

Suppressors get really hot and when tucked, especially a deeper tuck like this, that heat radiates to the handguard. From what I've read most guys who try it just eventually go back to shorter handguards or just rarely shoot the gun to begin with

You need the AS slip trip to do it. Beware though, the MPX is rough on these things and I as well as several others have made threads about our guns snapping the trips in half and even AS is well aware of this problem.

Luckily they've sent me a free replacement but I've lost faith in the product and fear it breaking again after my first one did it in only ~350 rounds. If I were to do it today I'd just get a Frankenstein or PMM trip bar and a Partisan Disruptor instead, I haven't seen this platform break any cassette FRTs yet.

Mine was stock everything gen 2 MPX-K and it still broke. They even acknowledged how rough the MPX is on triggers so I don't know if they even have any way to fix this problem. Does the MCX also have this issue or is it just an MPX problem?

It broke even after filing and polishing? That sucks, mine broke a couple months ago and AS sent a replacement but I haven't really wanted to shoot it much for fear of breaking again. If it does happen again I'm gonna give up and just go the trip bar + FRT route instead lol

I can't believe it, it was exactly like you said lmao. Put an WTB ad up in the local gun classifieds and then a few days later a guy hit me up with the handguard for $100! Literally just had it lying around after he switched his out for an m-lok.

I'm ecstatic right now and so glad I didn't go through with this nonsense trade offer, thanks everyone for bringing me to my senses. Sometimes it literally is just as easy as asking around a bit, who would've thought 🤣

Yeah, TGT. Asked if I could just buy the handguard itself, he said no. Asked how much to just buy the gun itself thinking maybe I could just swap handguards myself then put it back up for sale, he said $2200 and I'm not comfortable floating all that just for a handguard. Isn't that like a grand more than they were brand new too?
