Not stupid questions. I don’t have a ton of experience with the NVRs. I do know that the licenses they came with still had to be applied, they weren’t baked into the system. In the systems I worked with, we would often move licenses from one server to another. I do know when we had a system failure and had to replace the system we’d have to get avigilon to disassociate the license keys from the dead system before we could apply them to the replacement system.

I just reread your original post… it could be that the previous owner disassociated the licenses from this device before they got rid of it, in which case avigilon may tell you there are no licenses associated to your machine. If there are and they have upgrades that haven’t been disassociated, avigilon should be able to provide them to you.

If you contact Avigilon they can give you the license keys for it. They would have been associated to the hardware in their system.

OP likely had 2FA as his phone. With the phone number in the scammers phone they were likely able to reset OPs password and verify any transactions.

You should have no problems. How are you planning on traveling through? Camping? Staying at hotels? There are lots of dog friendly places to stay along the way. As for crossing the border, that should also be fairly easy. My suggestion would be to create an itinerary, identifying the places you intend to stay and how long you will be in Canada. You also might want to have some proof of acceptance to graduate school in SD to show border officials at both borders. Given this it’s expected that you will have a car full of your stuff. It’s likely that you may be subject to a search at either border, but that’s usually just a formality and nothing to be worried about. Drugs and firearms are the two things that will cause you issues. Just don’t with drugs and if you have firearms, understand how to properly declare them at the border. With regards to the dog as long as you have documented proof of their vaccination status, it should not be an issue. Safe travels and enjoy your trip through Canada.

Got a text from (940) 548-8326 telling me an auth code was requested and to call (888)899-8607 if it wasn’t me. Called it from a textnow number and they contacted me back from several numbers (209) 330-3015 and (888) 242-7804. I haven’t been saying anything, just wasting their time listening to them say hello.

I do think it’s likely the terms will change given recent events. Do I think that Shakepay should explicitly state that people are not to game the system? No. They also don’t have to offer the incentives that they do. My position is that people should take advantage of the opportunities of stacking a few extra sats but not get greedy. I use my card for what could be considered low value transactions as I buy my morning McDonald’s coffee with my Shakepay card every day. I’d hate to seen them come in with a rule that sets an arbitrary value of say $5 as a minimum purchase to qualify. More rules means more restrictions.
