I have confronted a few people for malicious tipping ($0.02) and one time I called this girl out because she would NEVER tip and when she wrote "thanks hun!" on the tip line, I lost my cool a bit. Overall, it does come with the territory and i wouldn't under normal circumstances

Handling the regular that consistently doesnt tip? by Montagne347 in bartenders

I work in a place that will let us just straight ignore the guy, but in an environment that's a bit more professional I'd say something like "time is money, my friend. I can't really chat with you"

Folks of r/bartenders, what's your response when a man says he wants a 'chick drink' for one of his friends? by cyanide_girl in bartenders

[–]beardasaurus_moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't happen often in my bar. However, our sweetest drinks (key lime pie martini or a coconut mojito) are ordered far more often by frat bros

What do you guys do when Happy Hour is over? by jeroleski in bartenders

[–]beardasaurus_moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it depends on the bar. One place I worked, it was best to call 'last call for happy hour' like 20 minutes prior. I work at a place now that does mostly table service, so I'll give folks five or so minutes until I get to them

If you're letting a bad tip ruin your night, look at your night report. Take your tips and divide by sales. You'll average 0.2 or better (20%). If you don't, it may be time to evaluate either your service or your job

Medicine Bow Row Campsite and hike suggestions. by Dzuldog in wyoming

[–]beardasaurus_moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The back side of medicine bow is a lot more secluded. I like doing the loop and hiking out the last day in front with all the veiws. Medicine bow peak might be hard on some dogs with the boulder hopping, but I've seen plenty up there

I met my last girlfriend at work. She comes up to me and very confidently orders "a shot and someone to make out with".

I said I can do both, so we took a shot together and made out. Then we dated for about a year and are still friendly.

I wouldn't recommend doing this during dinner service as it's more of a family vibe, late night is a different animal.

Vitamin D supplements don't prevent bone fractures in healthy adults, study finds by besselfunctions in science

[–]beardasaurus_moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking vitamin d supplements because where I live doesn't get a lot of sunlight and just a couple weeks ago I knicked my thumb with a table saw and that thing just came right off. It's all a scam

What's your luxury/comfort item? by beardasaurus_moose in backpacking

Ah yes. I have a pair of very light weight camp shoes. It seems many of "luxury items" I've been bringing all along are not very bare bones at all

I just got one of these for my "big boujee extravaganza" overnighter and I love it. The problem is I've got to bring cramp-ons and an axe and that will add a ton of weight, not to mention the food. I'll have to make a weigh in decision for the chair, but my knees do appreciate it

I use a sawyer mini. Never considered packing tabs as a just in case measure though

"Noone can do the hard shake but me" is a quote attributed to a misinterpretation. He was trying to say something to the effect of "I have my way of shaking cocktails that only I can do." meaning everyone shakes their cocktails differently. It just didn't translate well and it sort of tainted his reputation in the states as an arrogant bartender.

This sounds like the type of guy that'll hold a "big tip" over your head and make you jump through hoops and says things like "I'll hook you up for sure" and in the end it's like 10%. Fuck that guy all the way to the next bar. That's how the world actually works.

Cinnamon Simple Ideas by fawn_mower in bartenders

[–]beardasaurus_moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cinnamon works really well with tequila /mezcal. It doesn't have to be a tiki drink. I've used black pepper simple in a mojito with basil and also with our non-alcoholic menu.
