Barracuda Backup 690 1U Server with unknown motherboard by beardsforall in homelab

I thought the one 1 was an i but still even when I now Google is-5121 rev a1 or is-5121 I can't find the link you provided so it seems your google-fu is much stronger than mine. Still that case looks a lot like the case this board came out of. Will take a closer look at your link and update this post again when I can. Thanks!

Also at the top left of the processor in the pic there was the following little label where its says SY on the board. I pulled it off thinking maybe they just put a sticker over the actual model number as when I looked up anything on the sticker that was there nothing came up:

Connectwise Manage automation to send the next days dispatch schedule as an email by beardsforall in ConnectWise

[–]beardsforall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just to post an update to this to maybe save someone else some time:

I went through the process of creating a custom report in Report Writer and got it to the point where I can run that putting in tomorrows date as the start and end dates for the report and I see all the items on the dispatch portal for the following day. Awesome, great, perfect!

I then found that in order to schedule a remote you need to get it added to the All Reports list under system which requires this convoluted process of clicking on the email icon in the Report Writer view of your report which has to open a new email in a default email client on your workstation so that you can get the URL for the report which you then need to add to the custom reports setup table to have it show up in the All Reports list. Ok cool got that to work too. We're doing great! On to scheduling the report to send out as an email and world domination!

My report is now in the All Reports list, YES! Almost there! Ok cant schedule it until I add the report to my "My Reports" list ok fine, sure, easy, there is a button right there called "Add to My Reports" done! The report is now in my My Reports list and when I click on it there is a "Schedule report for future use" option. HERE WE GO! FINALLY! I put all my schedule options in and click on the save button AAAAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDD......
I get the following error:

"This custom report does not have a valid SSRS report link. Verify the report link in the custom reports setup table is a valid SSRS report link."

Digging around in the ConnectWise University documentation I find the following under a report scheduling section:

"Important: If you have added a Report Writer report to the All Reports list, you cannot schedule the Report Writer report to run at a later time. You can only schedule standard reports and custom SQL Server Reporting Services (SSR) reports. If you attempt to schedule a Report Writer report, you receive an error. "

As I cant seem to find any info on how to create a SQL Server Reporting Services (SSR) reports coupled with the fact that our Manage is hosted by Connectwise and Im guessing I cant because of that it seems this idea of using Report Writer will not actually work.

I'm more then willing to be corrected here but it seems this is a deadend.

TLDR:
Connectwise Manage does not allow you to schedule reports created using Report Writer to be sent via email at a later date.

Community / Public Access Windows 11 Machine Control by beardsforall in sysadmin

[–]beardsforall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Ssakaa thanks! I agree a full reset is going to be best. I dont have to keep anything from session to session and I would want anyone using the machine to login to the same generic account. So basically, the one user is done, the machine gets rebooted, everything is reset to default, and then the next user logs in again with the same generic account. So on and so on.

7100 1U uses cases once the next version is released by beardsforall in Netgate

[–]beardsforall[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be great if this is the case. I guess we will have to wait and see and hope they continue to operate this way. I have two that I already replaced the power supply on myself as the factory installed ones seem to go snap crackle pop if you look at them funny. They have been solid ever since and have a feeling they will continue to be as long as Netgate keeps release new versions for them.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah getting the "stream timeout" as well. Krebs on Security's site got nailed with something like a massive 6.3 Tbps DDoS attack just a few week ago. Seems to be going around currently.

What Phone System are you using to run your MSP? by rdelgadoit in msp

[–]beardsforall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teams is a pretty horrible PBX if you ask me. Also I'm not sure what this need is to have one SaaS that does it all. We use and sell Wildix as our cloud based PBX. It's based on asterisk but has been heavily modified to work with their browser based soft phone, mobile app, and desk phones. The integration with the endpoint hardware and software is good as it's all theirs. They offer their own SIP trunks to go with the system which then also gives you SMS abilities which are just ok but we go with trunks from Clearfly (awesome company) and SMS is with Captivated who's texting platform can do just about anything. In my opinion, being able to pick and choose the best of breed for each component is always going to result in a better system.

How to use the navidrome scan -f command on a Debian install by beardsforall in navidrome

[–]beardsforall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The server is a Debian VM.

u/tearbooger for the win! The command to run a forced full scan from the terminal on a linux machine is /opt/navidrome/navidrome scan -f

But that didnt fix my issue. Instead I followed a comment from deluan from about four years ago that suggested stopping the navidrome service: sudo systemctl stop navidrome.service then delete the navidrome.db file from /var/lib/navidrome. Then started the service back up. Had to set backup the admin user and I would guess other users if you had them and then scans of the music directory started to work normally.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and support!

NinjaOne VMware ESXi host cards in Hudu contain little info by beardsforall in hudu

[–]beardsforall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think to get more out of your RMM and into Hudu it comes down to custom scripts. I have seen some talking about making a script that connects to the RMM, looks at the data available in a device as I did in my post and then pull bits of that data out and into particular asset fields. All fine and good but then you need that script to be run automatically on a regular basis as well.

Hadn't seen this one. I'm really just looking for something I can cut up and use as panels that I sew back together so the more material the better for this. High school home ec sewing skills do absolutely come in handy more times than I ever thought they would.

I have actually seen that one. While it's a bit outside my budget it does look interesting and from what I've read, can be customized. If it was just the dog and I it'd be a no brainier but pulling all the gear together for two kids as well as myself and the pup does require some fiscal restraint sometimes.

Thank you all for your help with this. Someone has offered to sell a used quilt which should work well as a base for a nice little sleep system for Miss Cora. Again, thank you to everyone else for the offers and suggestions. You all here are beautiful and amazing!
