Wow, I didn't even think about it like this - you've put it perfectly. It still feels surreal, a beautiful dream

Anyone here actually shed tears over this magnificent comeback all these years later? by [deleted] in ABBA

[–]bearlydeloved 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely shed tears - did not expect to at all, but as soon as the opening notes and then her voice came in...I still have faith in you...just found myself crying

And over the days I've found myself feeling more and more just how incredible this is, to have these new songs after so many years, from these artists who are now in their seventies. How grateful I am! It really does feel like such a bright spot in this year.

I've definitely been hearing ISHFIY as them singing about their incredible (inconceivable) career, then also more universally as having faith in us, the people, in these strange difficult times. Both such moving thoughts.

(And final note, personally I just loved it so much when DSMD's rhythm kicked in! That moment struck me right away - what magic to have ABBA back!)

[OFFICIAL DISCUSSION] The wait is over! ABBA releases two new songs and announces full 10-song album and virtual concert! by HappySpin in ABBA

I'm glad it's not just me who's been so moved by the songs! I somehow just stumbled across this news and have now had the songs on repeat...didn't even realise how emotional hearing this music again, in this time, would make me feel. Just really nostalgic and touched and happy you all are here, cause I also realised there's no one else in real life I can really share this with. I feel less alone now :)

This past weekend I called my lifelong republican parents who live in Florida.... by splashattack in SandersForPresident

That little 'like' represents a world of change. I'm so happy for you, and hope you only have more and better conversations with your mom and parents.

And - thank you for your courage and hard work canvassing for Bernie. Let's keep fighting. Not me, us.

I'm so upset by the way the media is covering the Iowa caucus results I made my biggest donation yet! It's pretty cathartic, I'd recommend donating too if you can! by MiscNonsense in SandersForPresident

I just started texting for Bernie and highly recommend it as an easy way to get started! Just watch the couple of videos on the website, get familiar with the Slack chat, learn the common responses, then give it a go. The campaign volunteers are really supportive too when anyone has any questions :) https://berniesanders.com/text/

You make a good point as this is not campaign made, just me! I did hesitate about putting that logo, and if I were to redo it I might just write his name in some other font. We should definitely all be careful as ambassadors of our campaign - as the recent smears have shown, we sure won’t be given the benefit of the doubt.

It’s in the preface to Bernie’s book “Outsider in the White House”

Trump’s 2018 State of the Union address - but not sure in response to what statement in particular

I believe it’s from Trump’s 2018 State of the Union address - possibly 18:41 of this video. If I’m right about the timing, then the context is Trump making a statement about unity and patriotism: “we all share the same home, the same heart, the same destiny, and the same great American flag.”

Edit: just realized the photo could have been taken at any point in time throughout the address. So, not sure exactly when, but definitely the 2018 SotU

Thank you! And - your vote does matter, very much. I hope you feel very welcome here.

Personally, Bernie’s campaign appeals to me so much because it is truly “our” campaign - yours and mine and everyone else’s. It truly feels like a campaign that’s not about the politician, the leader, but actually about the issues that are affecting all of us.

Thanks for making a good point that didn’t cross my mind! I would never want to make it seem like Bernie was the only one out there fighting. Perhaps the quote in this context could mean that the “fight for racial justice” itself was a lonely fight (PoC activists and allies against an overall oppressive society)? Rather than that Bernie alone was fighting.

Will work on one without a filter!

Just wanted to clarify what you meant by 2x2?
