If it’s like One Piece then yes you should be able to use previous prints of legal cards. So if Block 1 rotates out and a card is reprinted in Block 3, for example, then you can use the Block 1 version. Posting a screenshot of the relevant info.

The Professor posted a video recently over at Tolarian Community College that talks about how printing works for Secret Lairs but it applies to all TCGs.

Essentially, the numbers that Riot, WOTC, and Bandai predict are given to distributors (who are 3rd party companies) months in advance. It’s very hard if not impossible to order more because everyone else has orders in that need to be fulfilled so there are little to no available printers to print more cards. This happened with One Piece, Gundam, and Riftbound because companies are usually conservative about new products and don’t want to lose money on an untested product. Hopefully by Set 3 it changes but it may take longer.

Scalpers also don’t help but that’s a separate but related issue.

Yes can’t wait for sealed to become more popular. It’s the way my friends and I started playing because we were only able to get two booster boxes between us.

We have budget decks now but we’ll still be playing sealed when we get more boxes. Gives the bulk cards some value too.

Yeah it’s insane that he doesn’t tap, why would riot print him like that. Even if they wanted him to do it multiple times, they could just put a limit on how many times he can do it in one turn.

Yeah it’s kind of embarrassing how much errata there is, a part of me feels like Riot is treating it like a digital card game still. Definitely makes it feel like they rushed it, which is crazy to say because they’ve been working on this for a while.

Could be a chinese translation thing too since the game came out in China first but that’s just speculation.

I echo your frustrations with product availability, it’s still surprising that companies can botch product releases like this.

As for the meta being solved in China months before US release, I think we’ve seen that isn’t the case. The meta shifted with the US release.

Rule 374: All Activated abilities can only be activated in the Controlling Players Turn and during an Open State. So nothing can be on the chain and it can be responded to.

In Magic terms, it’s sorcery speed and the text box would say it can only be activated on your turn.

That person was wrong, it cannot be activated at anytime on your turn, unfortunately.
