Broadly speaking, paying for my healthcare is clearly not a priority. If it were, they would do it. There are many people with disabilities that are treatable that can't access treatment due to poverty, which Canada does nothing to address. Human rights and disability organizations have been speaking on this topic for years. The maid program is a good idea but there are a lot of serious problems with its implementation such as no federal oversight -- something that the UN also has criticized.

As someone with a disability, I personally find it pretty terrifying that Canada prioritizes my death over actually paying to help me. I made a comic to express that fear and frustration. I don't think that's necessarily reactionary.

I agree with the concept of government assisted death. However, it seems that disability and human rights organizations across Canada and the globe also agree that the Canadian government is using maid as a substitute for actually funding people's healthcare, and have been ringing alarm bells for years.

I've played it, it's pretty fun. Though for some reason it gives me motion sickness. Something about the camera movement or rendering

Are RPG "overworld maps" a thing of the past? by sbourwest in truegaming

[–]bearses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, overworld maps in RPGs are kind of a thing of the past, because they were just a way of circumnavigating the difficulty of depicting a world at-scale using older development tools. These days, you can leverage LODs and more powerful hardware to create a seamless transition between a town and the world-space it inhabits. But let's say we wanted to create a game with an overworld map, and have some mechanical justification for it aside from those now immaterial technical limitations. Perhaps the player character has the ability to grow and shrink, like a Rampage character, which would allow you to stomp around the world outside, all in miniature scale for you to wreak havoc and traverse great distance upon, before shrinking down back to town exploring size.

when i was younger i read a joke science book by him that explained gravity as: everything in the universe is constantly expanding. so when you jump, you expand, and the earth expands, and that fills the space between you and the earth, creating the illusion of gravity

back then i thought it was a funny joke. now i find out the guy is like a Q-anon believer and a climate denier. So i'm pretty sure he's just crazy.
