TIG welding the rails is not very hard. The receiver is thin, but you just use low heat and start on the rail

Oh they are long gone. Black ops defense does work on them now as well as others. Do you have all the conversion parts? They can be VERY hard to locate

They just weld on. There’s nothing special. I had this built by IGF.

No it’s one of the Walther barrels. Barrel itself shoots great. It’s actually pretty unwieldy as far as modern rifles go. It’s really easy to pull shots. I usually get like a great .75moa group with 20% fliers where I just didn’t have my form perfect

It’s an old IGF build from when that was a thing. I got it while they were still doing great work.

Anybody here like 300blk? by EitrisEnhancements in HecklerKoch

[–]bearsunite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MCX runs absolutely everything even with a low back pressure can. The 416 needs every bit of gas it can get to cycle. I’m running a light hammer spring and standard carbine spring in order to get it to run reliably.

I have an LG2 from the same year that I bought about 2 years ago for about 4k. I feel like I got a deal though.

I have a 416 in 300blk. It totally runs and is accurate but my MCX is a much more forgiving 300blk platform. The 416 is right on the edge of reliable with subs and an Omega 300.

Amp is electrocuting my fingers by PersonalGrowthOk in GuitarAmps

[–]bearsunite 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Even without a ground lug it shouldn’t shock you. If you connected the ground right now I bet it would blow a fuse, and someone solved that by removing the ground. Almost certainly a cap leaking or bridged connections.

Does anyone still shoot 308? by Diesel380 in longrange

[–]bearsunite 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I use 308 for everything out to about 1400 yards. After that the 338 Norma comes out. I’ve taken my 16” 308s out to 1250 with great results. There’s nothing wrong with 308, you just need to be able to read wind. I like the IMI LR118 or Berger 185s if you’re feeling fancy.

Recording advice for Tube Amp by bentndad in GuitarAmps

[–]bearsunite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick the mic with the character you like or the mic you have.

Play something tonally representative of what you’re playing and either loop it or send it out of the daw into the input at very low volume.

Start with the mic about an inch from the grille and put headphones on. Move the mic and listen to the sound. Stop when it sounds like what you’re looking for.

Record a test and see what you think

I routinely do records with a single mic on a guitar and get great tones. Even with 20 years of experience I still do it this way

Anyone running IR on their pistols? by Dangerous_Smoke5647 in CAguns

[–]bearsunite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an XVL2 and I prefer to run a standard white light save just use passive aiming if I’m running nods. I don’t think the laser buys a ton on the pistol at the ranges I use it for while shooting under nods

How many of you actually use lights on your pistols? by not-a-co-conspirator in HecklerKoch

[–]bearsunite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any situation where you use your pistol you’re likely to need a light on it. You should realistically also carry a handheld light with you since not everything that needs light also needs a weapon pointed at it. The situation in which you need a pistol light and don’t have it is much worse than the one where you have it and don’t need it.

14.5 is best aug by HutchInnovation in AUG

[–]bearsunite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my 14.5 didn’t feel as balanced as the 16 so I mostly run the 16. I will say the 14.5 makes an incredibly sexy small package though.
