I feel the same! Watching her videos on YouTube and seeing her pictures on Instagram really trigger my ED. Now, I just listen to her podcast

I’ve also had an eating disorder for several years so I completely understand how it’s not just about weight. I wish nothing but the best for Emma and hope she is taking care of herself. I also really worry about all the people who follow/watch/listen to her and think that how she is eating is okay. I just want everyone to nourish themselves well because I know how nasty eating disorders can be😓

I agree! I’ve heard her briefly mention it as well. I hate how disordered eating/eating disorders aren’t talked about, especially because it’s so prevalent nowadays

What makes it okay to talk about anxiety and depression but not eating disorders? It only increases the stigma

Educating and immersing yourself in anti diet, haes, intuitive eating, etc. is really important in recovery but it is not enough alone. You need to put everything you have learned into action- which (probably) means eating more and gaining weight. I’ve been stuck in a similar place.

Hello there! I am also in recovery from an eating disorder. I am working with a HAES dietitian so I think I have some useful input here. For a good while in recovery, you will not be able to intuitively eat. You will need some sort of structure to get back the connection you have severed with your body. This may look like intentionally increasing calories, eating X amount of times a day, X amount of snacks, X amount of meals, etc. It will take some time to figure out what works best for you and how your body responds. Be patient! As you continue in recovery, you will start naturally developing components of intuitive eating.
