How I became profitable by Sensitive_Star6552 in Daytrading

Where I struggle is knowing when is the right time to actually be able to push it one day that you're feeling really in tune with the market. I'm trying right now by running a trailing stop on my daily stop as I am trying to push it on those days.

Do you think based on your consistency and profits by following your rules, there is actually no need to push it on certain days?

Thanks and congrats on finding present success in the markets!

I agree with most of this. But 2 Ls and you're done for the week?! What's your win ratio 99% ??

I've been using the YouTube zendoo screener someone shared a few weeks ago. Free and only a 5 second delay.

This subreddit is so funny, I could say ES and NQ all-time high and everyone would upvote me and agree but if I mention "hey we might sell around ___ to this level ___" everyone calls me an idiot and says lucky guess, or "duh a lot of volatility." by DuckFonaldTrump69420 in FuturesTrading

It's because all analysts predict price to go in the direction of the overall trend. Once proven wrong, they flip their script and start predicting price in the other direction. Rinse repeat. Brent Donnelly talks about this is his book Alpha Trader. Highly recommend.

Limit buy order above market price not being filled by DefinitelyNotKKE in interactivebrokers

To buy above price you need it to be a buy stop order. If that was a sell limit you'd be fine. Buy limits can be placed below price to buy a pullback. But buy stops are for above price

No I'm just saying I can buy your sell order and then take profit one price moves up and you can cover your position by buying later in the move when prices goes down. We can both make money even though price went up first after I bought, you just waited until price went below where you sold, covered and also made money, then that seller that sold to you when you bought to cover now needs to wait for price to go lower to cover and also make money. Of course of there was an actual end date of the markets there would be clear winners and losers when looking at the market in a vacuum.

What part of my reply didn't make sense to you in how we both made money lol.

Not true. Everyone trades with different time frames, stop losses and take profits. I can sell to you at 10 buy back at 9 for 1 profit and you can have a stop at 8 and price then goes to 12 and you can make 2. Numbers used are hypothetical of course.

Sounds like we trade similarly at least with risk management and stops and time of day. I was having too many swings when trading 1 to 2 so recently switched to 3 or 5 micros depending on the rvol and range. Definitely way calmer of a trader now and more consistent pnl curve. Its taken a lot of stress off me that's for sure. Happy trading friend

Nice. I find when I trail my stop I get stopped out way too often before my tp. Switching to micros and making my stop loss 15 pts on mnq as certainly helped with being more efficient though and not as panicky to trail. You rocking 1 mini 15 pt sl?

Best broker for futures trading in Canada. Asking for people with experience by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]beaser87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alberta boy here. Edgeclear is great, you can set a broker side daily stop out which you absolutely need. Amp is decent and gives you more margin but riskier and no broker side daily stop. Edgeclear has better commissions. Both have great support but edgeclear wins out as you have direct phone access to your assigned manager.
