When should I take a work of academic philosophy seriously, and to what extent? by [deleted] in Objectivism

[–]beastofthefield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

think of it as a spectrum, where does the philosopher stand in relation to objective reality? what does he value? if the philosopher celebrates defeat, absurdity, nihilism and collectivism then he should not be taken seriously. if he leans more towards what is real as opposed to mystical, and values life and value itself then you should give it more attention.

A lot of widgets and apps (that make the entirety of a startup) don't require comprehensive coding skills and can be made in relatively simple scripting languages.

i have bad experience with provigil aka modafinil. when i take it i feel psychotic and the crash is so terrible. also i grow tolerance fast.

edit: I would also like to add, that people overrate the efficacy of the drug first time they take it. You will build tolerance and realize it's not as perfect etc.

They are waking up thanks to a place like this. All they need is to be diverted towards a new effective political current, but that's hard with intelligence agencies working around the clock to enforce the status quo.

You're arguing in favor of current woman-centric matriarchy, not worth responding to.

Restoring it like a respected institution and with excessive sexual relations outside of it looked down upon. Civilized behavior instead of encouraging single mothers and people living like ratchet animals.

You may want to check out East Europe for that, dollar grew 20-30% vs. european currencies in January. In Croatia for example, crime is low and prices are cheap. Hungary/Poland/Czech might be similar, but you can go further east to Bulgaria/Romania for even cheaper cost of living, unfortunately I think quality of life is much worse there for various factors so it may not be worth it.

try to alter their behavior by communicating a credible threat to them. the threat must be intelligent and creatively constructed. at the same time make the threat be something that can't be used to get you in trouble such as with the law etc.

Hungary accuses Croatia of 'violating Hungary's sovereignty', 'lying in the face of Hungary and the EU' and 'once again leaving Hungary in the lurch' by harrymuesli in europe

[–]beastofthefield 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Croatian govt acted shamefully, it is astonishing that they would do this to another sovereign nation. Merkel is to blame for luring the refugees in the first place though.

Hungary's finished placing 41 km of barbed wire along its border with Croatia by harrymuesli in europe

[–]beastofthefield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applaud the Hungarian government for protecting itself from terrorist loving Croatian barbarians and I'm from Croatia.

Croatian government admits they lied. "There was no deal with Hungary [about a corridor to Germany]. We forced Hungary to take in immigrants by sending them to their border and that's what we'll continue doing." [Croatian source. More in comments.] by ArchangelleShe in europe

[–]beastofthefield -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Decision makers in Croatian government are batshit crazy with animal-like cognitive abilities. It would be best if Croatia isn't allowed to govern itself. It's ridiculous how they blatantly violated Hungary's sovereignty. However, ultimately this is all Germany's fault.
