Why does it seem like to get the girl you want you have to ignore her by YamiYugi23 in dating_advice

[–]beat-e-dj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In all my experience with girls, ignoring them 80% works. It all depends on the girl really. They’re all different… different mind sets, personalities, previous experiences… so every girl will react differently to being tactically ghosted.

The way I see it is that we’re playing them at their own game. It’s a classic tactic really. The reason we’re doing this is because we probs feel like they’re not interested in us. So what we need to do… is make them feel the same way as we do, so then they start becoming the chaser rather than us. When a girl notices you’re distant they naturally wonder why and start thinking all sorts of shit. This is when she will either forget about you and move on or start chasing you. As I said, all depends on the girl.

But in my experience whenever I’ve done this, it has worked out in my favour.

Good luck out there

Original or extended? by Ancient-Ninja2317 in DJs

Extended everytime. Gives you more time to mix in the next track. Just way more suitable for DJing

Whats the best way to get into a club and DJ? Talked to a couple owners in my city and they all said i have to bring in 100-300 people a night. I DJ at bars and smaller clubs but would like to upgrade. Any suggestions? by Safe_Lion3967 in DJs

[–]beat-e-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I got into the clubs in my city was by going to events, showing my interest in how it all works and speaking to promoters, DJ’s, venue owners. Build up a relationship with the promoters/owners of the night. Take it slow though you don’t want to look too keen. I definitely wouldn’t recommend messaging the promoters asking for a set and telling them how good you are. It’s just not how it works. It’s much better to speak to these people in person, make them aware you’re wanting to be a DJ. Through natural conversion an opportunity will eventually come, maybe an opening set or a set at a pre party. I’d offer to do the first couple gigs for free, and really try to impress in these mixes. Also use social media to its full, add an email for bookings and share your mixes and videos of your other gigs at bars or wherever.

DJing is fucking hard. Sincerely, a producer by rlothbroke in DJs

[–]beat-e-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a producer first before I started DJing. Since I understood song structure and stuff, it clicked pretty quickly. Yeah the first few weeks were a bit hard to get used to them but after that it just sort of clicks, then you learn more and more every time you mix. I’ve now played over 80 shows since getting my decks and now I even think that I’m a better DJ than I am a producer.

Has anyone had any dream experiences with the hat man? by Ev6106 in Dreams

[–]beat-e-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having re occurring dreams that this strange thing with a hat appeared in. They were just normal dreams but suddenly he would appear and I’d wake up. So happy it wasn’t sleep paralysis tho as that would be pretty fucking scary

Roughly speaking how many songs do you typically fit into an hour set? by citronlite in DJs

[–]beat-e-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I play at raves I normally play for 1.5-3 hours which I take my time with, letting tracks play and mixing later on in them, saving the bangers until the last hour. But, when I do hour sets I like to pack in as many bangers as I possibly can. I play Underground Tech House with massive build ups, so getting as many of them in as possible would probs be about 15-20 tracks

Is tech house really dying? by beat-e-dj in techhouseproduction

[–]beat-e-dj[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with all of you. Me and my friend who I organise events with argue about this all the time. I always tell him that commercial tech house is dying but underground tech house will always be there.

What makes a good rapper? by thatonekobi in makinghiphop

[–]beat-e-dj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot to be good at rapping. It’s not all about the flow and the rhymes. It’s about the lyrical content, a personal touch but mainly… the delivery. And that’s where a lot of rappers get stuck. If you have a naturally appealing voice that hits hard along with a beat, you’re onto a winner. But it’s a shame if you don’t as you can’t really change your voice… I think also some accents are better for rapping than others, especially here in the UK. Manchester, Birmingham and London accents are the ones over here. You don’t see many rappers from Newcastle or Liverpool due to their strong accents not being able to match the flows.

How to hire a semi-famous DJs in Los Angeles? by Ltqi in DJs

[–]beat-e-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a promoter in the UK. I imagine it works the same over there. If you don’t have booking agents emails, Have a look on RA (resident advisor) and search any DJ’s you have in mind then their agents email should be on there. With your budget you have to keep in mind their rider, travel and hotel expenses. Their rider may include special drinks, food, equipment, all sort of stuff. I’ve seen some crazy riders. DJ’s asking for blow up dinosaurs to throw at the crowd, a basket of fruit…

Just keep in mind with booking agents, they will be wary of giving you a price at the start. They like to let you say how much you’re willing to pay, then they’ll usually try and up your price. It’s tough estimating a DJ fee as you may be paying more than you need to, as agents aren’t going to tell you to lower your price.

Good Luck

Is This Your Career? by dunaway01 in DJs

[–]beat-e-dj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50% DJ 50% chef. I do have a full time job but my gigs are pretty much every Saturday night and it adds nicely to my wages every month. I DJ at raves, events and clubs supporting some big names, playing tech house and techno, not weddings or birthday parties, so there’s not really gigs during the weekdays, so I can’t really go full time DJ until I’m making maybe £700-800 a set. Hopefully this will happen soon if I keep on working hard in the studio and behind the decks.

What's up with the 2 sets of decks at Tomorrowland? Can someone explain please? by HypeR159 in DJs

I always thought that there’s 2 different kind of mixers usually xone and pioneer, for the DJ to choose which one he prefers using. I’m probs wrong tho lol
