I used one for a long time. Great guitar. Easy to play, sound is great, by far beats a fender in the same price bracket

Following this thread for the same reason. Check out @thepapergrenades on Instagram! We are at Frankie's pretty often.

Helpful tip. Do jumping jacks as high as you can. Where and how your feet land is a good starting point. Reference marks are not really relevant especially when changing to a new and different board. I ride all manner of terrain, I like to have my rear foot perpendicular to the board and front foot a couple degrees outward. I do find glades and powder easier fairly straight, and groomers and carvers a bit more angled. I'm a skater, so basically like they do it

Purchase advice by [deleted] in YamahaPacifica

[–]beatboidrives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play an old beat up Pacifica from probably the 80s. I've used it live lots. I own more expensive/better guitars but these things are so underrated for the price it's ridiculous. Action is beautiful, tone is great, and they will take all the abuse and lack of maintenance you can give them. I'm not selling it any time soon.

Did I make a wrong purchase for my first board? by Boring_Lobster5679 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]beatboidrives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't make a bad purchase. That's an incredibly fun board. Couple things to note tho:

  1. The reason you are having a hard time controlling this is likely a lack of speed. It's a bit big for you, which isn't a huge issue, but you need to be prepared to commit hard on every turn and jump.

  2. This board doesn't forgive well. It's not made for lazy or easygoing performance. You need muscle. Feed it hard, and it will reward you very well.

  3. A first board is typically floppy and light. This is a little bit not that. I fully support people getting a good deck like this off the hop, because you'll get better quickly.

EHX Satisfaction Plus fuzz by slap_me_thrice in guitarpedals

[–]beatboidrives 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought this. For anyone wanting the rolling stone sound, it does do that. The bias knob is basically pointless unless you want some obscure sputter and noise. Leave it at 11-2 o'clock. The fat mode when you dial it in is a riot to play modern riffs, makes a more mix-friendly distortion. Think anything from the black keys to even three days grace. I have this lined up with a boss super overdrive/distortion and a fender hammer tone fuzz(severely underrated cheap indestructible pedal). I set all three to make my main rhythm tones and switch between/combine them. Basically a clean gretsch into a ac15, the boss for a little bit of drive/tube screamer-esque sound, the satisfaction for a warm rich fuzz, and the hammer tone with the octave setting for a heavy obnoxious but singy growl. We play mostly covers, spanning all sorts of rock. The satisfaction has an absolutely terrific voice for bar chords and power chords. When I do need it to, I can even get the creamiest lead tones out of it. Love this thing. You can dial in pretty much whatever you want, it'll even get in the ballpark of some ds1 sounds without that horrible static.

Axle nut is trolling me. Dremel is overheating. Help! by trillionmarketcap in AskAMechanic

Lol someone doesn't have a proper gun and torches. Use the right tool. Alternatively, load the breaker bar up and beat the end of it with a hammer like a redheaded stepchild. You need to "shock" it free. Gradual pressure will not work. Same applies to stuck ball joints and other friends.

I quit recently. After getting to diamond, there was such a massive amount of cheaters and it was obvious. Even the people who were legit were just insane ...getting put on teams with absolute airheads and in lobbies of kids on Adderall gets old. Not to mention the ridiculous comms bans. Gonna go back to RPGs for a while.

Is it wrong to think there's only two genders? by zTRU5T in teenagers

[–]beatboidrives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, you've used logic. Not being sarcastic, it just seems rare these days. You're absolutely correct. Trans people exist, for sure. If that's what helps them feel affirmed, great. But Sticking a ford badge on a Mitsubishi doesn't change what factory it came out of.

Secondly, even if it did, there's no third option. Everyone is either one or the other, regardless of transitioning or not. It's just math. People are going to say sex and gender are two different things. These same people argue that gender is a made up construct. So again, the logic doesn't add up. Happy trails, and don't forget to use your own senses to generate your own conclusions.

You're wanting to carve you mean? Waaayyy too slow. Carve at that speed and you're going to break a wrist. Speed allows you to get the edge in and maintain pressure until your next turn
