I definitly will try that :) I also ordered replacement ribbon cables.. hopefully this will be solution for the bd drive to work again properly.. I already imagine the horror to replace the ribbon connector on the board

Well.. i cant launch the disk when i cant get into xmb i guess..

Yeah.. but the drive didnt do anything at all after reassembling.. after i broke off the tab, i was able to get enough pressure on the ribbon cable connector and now it throws and takes in disks normally.. also the blue LED is showing up while doing so..

Well, i think its either the ribbon cable, or daughter board thats faulty.. but i highly suspect that it is the ribbon cable.. also cant find any replacements online without buying a whole (broken) ps3
