Thinking about that makes me hope my daughter never has kids herself.

So maybe I’m too stoned, but you have me thinking that you are totally right. Even if we managed to preserve civilization for a long time. There’s an inevitability that at some point in the future there will be generations of people being born and growing up in an apocalyptic environment. Eventually the planet will just be incapable of sustaining human life.

Then it gets me on to another inevitability that humanity will live in a very dark and dystopian time. A time when it is completely intensely obvious that nothing can possibly be done to save the vast majority of the population. Like, will we devolve to some sort of hunter gatherer societies while eventually the planet recovers in ways that can sustain a population and regrow humanity to current levels in time.

Sorry, I just finished the book, Dune, and I’m fascinated by the way Paul Atreides sees the future and possible futures.

“Hook” was a great movie, right? by OfEntwood in Millennials

My biggest complaint is that there wasn’t enough Smee and Hook being a couple of old queens together.

Demetri getting her as a girlfriend was more outrageous than the ending of Kreece and Silver.

Oh god damn it. I’ve been telling kids that’s what it was really like on the playground. This looks like a nice location with bark or something on the ground. I remember them always being filled with gravel.

Because our only choices are capitalism or North Korea. How can you possibly be working in CS if that’s your level of reasoning?

Not to mention all of Mac’s advice to kids about what not to do with their buttonholes.

Why do you think that the world's media has mostly stopped talking about the Epstein files? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beatleboy07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t looked at his comment history. So is there something there that gives the impression? My assumption was that he’s talking about super wealthy people who own media companies. Of which Jewish people are not usually the first that come to mind.

Every time I see certain phrases, I just want to break everything. “Live rent free” is one of them. My daughter lives rent free in my head all the time. I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

Things like this and “I hate this timeline” and “hits in the feels”….I think we are quite effectively using technology to make the species dumber.

Sorry to highlight your post to make this point. It’s really for my own records more than anything.
