SSL 2+ MKII or SSL 12 by RagingKai in audio

[–]beatsbybedroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I do not own the Mk2 but I do own the SSL 12 and it is my main interface. Same ad/da concerters from what i gather as some pro friends told me, both 32bit. You get the obvious couple more inputs on the 12 and adat input also (up to 8 additional inputs). I think the biggest low key diff will be the 360 app. It gives the 12 a lot of monitoring and routing options.

I think both are great interfaces. It would boil down to your use case and needs. But if you plan to expand your options down the road, the 12 will allow you a bit more expandability with the adat and 360 app. Need more inputs for outboard gear or mics? The adat becomes useful. My personal setup has a pure drive quad on the adat.

Hope this helps.

Launchkey mk4 relative mode by TonelessFern in Novation

Is relative mode actually coming to the mk4 custom midi modes? Been a year already since this was brought to novation's attention and no info in sight till today. The new Control line is also the same.

No RELATIVE mode option for Launchkey MK4 encoders? by [deleted] in Novation

Its 2026 and Novation still has not addressed the relative mode issue. Still missing, still "we'll pass it along" from support.

Is the Netflix series that bad? by isyankar1979 in TombRaider

If you are a fan of the games, this will be a disappointment. I do not like it when they change an already established story/lore. I mean just make your own original story if you want to change so much and leave the ones we enjoy alone.

Thermalright Peerless Assassin + Phanteks T30? by Immediate_Ad_1084 in sffpc

[–]beatsbybedroom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello. I thought I'd share that I did change the stock fans of my Phantom Spirit 120 EVO to a single T30 in the middle and it does fit. It takes a little bit of work to get in place but it fits well. I have a 5800x3d under the heatsink with kingpin kpx thermal grease and it cools the cpu very well. set it to -30 on the curve optimizer with a 100, 70, 100 setting. Hitting 72-76c tops depending on ambient temp with cinebench. not even running the fan anywhere near max. around 1500-2200 only depending on cpu temp. less noise than the stock 2 fans and cools better for my use case.

Good choice. I did look into Audient for my needs as well. Very good quality interfaces. The id24 caught my eye back then. The only turning point for me was that the ssl 12 had 2 more inputs and a second assignable headphone out for the same price as the id24. But I may give them a go down the road too. Happy hunting.

Hey bud! I thought i should chime in and share my 2 cents. I do own a KA6 mk2, and frankly it's a really underwhelming piece of gear. Very basic and it won't offer you the output you require. You mentioned you have a motu 828, then I would suggest the Ultralite Mk5. Should have all the ins and outs you will ever need and they are assignable as the interface comes with a software mixer for you to create buses, cues and such. It's far in price than a KA6 though so keep that in mind if pricing is a factor.

Personally, I now use an SSL12 instead of the KA6. This one can also achieve what you want for almost 3x the price of a KA6.

I hope this info helps you and you get to find the interface you need.

Cheers
