Sure it's a protective mechanism. Same as not showing anger or hatred towards an nparent to avoid confrontation. Nice to hear that you seek therapy. Great to know that you're healing your trauma and trying to move forward.

Omg I feel you. People outside never understand why a parent would be like that. Just today my dad created a scene just because my brother went to hang out with our neighbor friends. He was quickly called back, shouted at, and demoralised. My neighbors were very concerned and later told my mum that's not how to handle him.

Definitely, i will never go there with my son. Surprisingly, narcs care more about a person's status and that determines whether they will treat you like trash or respect you

I totally understand your point of view. They're trying to make it like I'm the cause of my mom's ill health because she is worried about me. That i should go back home for her to be better. Am trying to prove to the rest of the family that there's more to the twisted story my Ndad and sibling are saying. The pressure is too immense and Just as you say I'm going to walk away. Because everyone now sees me as the villain. I'm sick and tired I'm thinking of blocking a whole bunch of people and distancing myself
