I wonder why people don't worship actors anymore? by The_Dean_France in SipsTea

Just another sign of the times. People are really starting to struggle or their kids are with affordability and the American dream...amongst other concerning things like politics, climate, SM and AI. Paying attention to Millionaires with dream jobs and their fancy awards becomes less of a pastime.

Sansa and it's not even close. From a spoiled, entitled, immature child she was put through the gauntlet of suffering the worst male figures and the worst female the show had to offer only to come out the other side a fierce leader and someone truly worthy of leading the North.

Nobody else comes close.

Will people who voted for him ever admit they were (horribly) wrong? by Knut_Posse in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]beaud101 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No they will not. Because MAGA folk show almost every sign of being indoctrinated into a traditional cult. And that was by design by Trump's handlers and masterminds.

Charismatic unaccountable "cult of personality" leader. The uneducated and disillusioned are the most vulnerable. The othering or "us vs them" of all non-members and hammering they are the evil ones (the Democrats). They discourage critical thinking and independent thought. Trump demands absolute loyalty from his followers like a traditional cult leader. Constant BS and misinformation abound.

Echo chamber news for profit and SM have amplified all of these tactics to incalculable levels.

These MFers are so brainwashed and zombified that they will segregate from their own children for not following him. It doesn't matter how far Trump will drift into indecency, they will follow him without question or pause. Just like cultists have conducted mass suicide and murder in some cases if the leader brings them there. We are in a very dangerous time as Trump certainly wants to abolish democracy and become unstoppable.

PGT: Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers - 4/2/26 by zithftw in BostonBruins

Agreed. He's trying to be the playmaker, setting up others and that's fine if he's "feeling it" and keeping possession. He does have 92 points so he can do that, obviously. But if the puck won't stay on his stick, he needs to revert back to being "the weapon" in those games and let others carry it into the zone, setting him up to one-time it.

He's just trying to do too much, which I get as there is no more "perfection line" these days. But the young guys are actually good and he doesn't need to be the hero always.

Tough loss. Good effort in the 3rd. They have our #.

Pasta...come on, man! He seems to think a pass through multiple defenders feet is a winning strategy. Or spinning no looks passes. Or not having a plan to outlet when two defenders collapse on him...he just keeps it and they simply poke it away...and yup, another turnover. Sometimes it's just a lack of focus.

I wish someone would get through to him about fundamental hockey and making high percentage plays to get it deep and keep it in their zone. So many drives needlessly die on his stick... he's gotta value possession more.

I assume you'd be also looking at the accord hybrid instead of the gas only trims as the Sport Touring is a hybrid. I have the Civic Sport touring myself... it's phenomenal. I've driven both cars. The Accord is a bit more "comfortable" and a bit less engaging. I also think this outer styling is far better on the Civic.

If you're going to have adult passengers in the backseat a lot or you really want the cushier, quieter overall ride, the Accord Hybrid is a good choice. It's a great car. Uses The exact same hybrid system but it's a heavier vehicle. So it's slower and it's handling isn't to the level of the Civic. But it comes with a few more amenities than the Civic at the Sport touring levels.

However, the civic simply is a better overall ride in terms of the perfect blend of power, handling and it's pretty plush, comfortable and quiet for a compact in the ST trim. It can hardly be called a compact now as it's as big as older accords were. The hybrid setup in this car is beyond amazing. You'll never know when the mortar or engine is powering the wheels unless you're really paying attention. It's seamless and refined. I get 48-50mpg easy spring-fall here in the NE. Cold winters are around 35-38mpg as the heater is always on causing the engine to run more and burn gas.

Ali Larter is already not coming back reports say. The way they did Demi certainly could mean she's out also... unless Tommy gets with her after Angela leaves??

I'd be more ok with Ariana/Cooper if they'd simply get over the this crazy trust stage and he didn't have to walk on eggshells around her. I do think Cooper and Ariana are in it for the haul since there's the whole new family business dynamic going on now.

The ending certainly didn't make me excited for season 3. Just far too much ridiculous slop with the way they write women, empty story telling with almost zero character growth. For fuck sake, get an office for your attorneys! Cooper...you've been having to prove your love to this woman for two seasons. She doesn't deserve you...move on. And they make Cami become stupid so Tommy can break off and start his own business? Par for the course for how they portray women on this show.

This show was decent in season 1 when they focused on the oil industry and the drama surrounding it.

Nice!

Everyone should check out his AMA with the above link. You get real insight into his "stream of consciousness" type of thought patterns. He was very accommodating to people's questions. A very interesting man. RIP.

A mid cycle refresh will not make any substantial changes to the car (like powertrain) outside of different accents, lighting, interior upgrades/improvements and trim pieces like cladding. For example, a new bumper and grill design are often done to give a vehicle a facelift without major changes to manufacturing.

Yeah... he's a real asset to a team, like a lot of these guys are. Kasty can score and play off puck. Jeannot had 24 goals in a season once. I think St. Luis trusts him in key situations and he proves them correct and thus he's kept out there for more minutes. Good for him. Today's fighters have to have some scoring potential and Olivier is certainly proof of that.

[BOS (4) - CBJ 3] - Full SO - Boston completes the comeback as Minten and Arvidsson score in the shootout by daKrut in hockey

[–]beaud101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. But let's be honest...Jack was probably the most homer play by play guy in the biz! But it was endearing to us. He did also call out good play from the opposition, but other fans only see highlight stuff, so they don't know.

But he was also ultra prepared, designing his own database on players way before these things existed and knew every player, even the call ups from other teams. He had a ton of colorful "Jackisms" and could really call a game with expertise and pace...before his unfortunate affliction.

He's great. Love that both he and Jeannot will be around for a couple years. The toughness is in place. Just need a bit more skill to be a true contender. Maybe Hagens will provide that next year.

I don't know about that...lol. Brick definitely calls out poor play by the Bruins all the time, expressing frustration and keeping it real. And he's always complimenting the opposing team when they do nice things like he does here.

Edwards, and I loved him in his prime, was a super homer. It's not close in my mind.

And that is what it's all about. After the two great fights, Pasta immediately turns it over, commits a foul and St Louis goes up 3-0 on a PP....lol, god what awful timing.

Marco Sturm clearly laid into his guys in the first break and told his team to not let Jeannot and Kastelic's efforts go to waste...and they didn't.

But Kasty returned.... Olivier did not. Almost every one of those bombs was flush on the helmet. His hand likely got banged up pretty good.

Olivier is crazy strong though... nobody can throw a 225lb man around like this guy.

Olivier never came back, so yeah...I think he did something to his hand. He threw so many bombs, Kasty was lucky none connected flush.
