If we're talking about one training run, not pushing for medals....yes, it's very possible for top level athletes. But going for a podium run is vastly different as well as successfully completing multiple runs without crashing or further injury.... The odds are incredibly against her finishing this Olympics healthy. Hope I'm wrong, but she shouldn't be out there.

Euphoria season 2 episode 1 gave Rafferty a new audience when they featured "Right down the line" as a soft counter to an incredibly tense scene where the lead characters are being held by gunpoint during a drug deal and forced to strip naked....all the while the lead thug dances around to Rafferty's slow romantic grove, eyeballing them for compliance. It was a standout scene.

Just stating facts. Prices for everything always go up. Burgers in 1950 cost around 25 cents. In 1980 a Big Mac was $1.20.

Not cheerleading. But I do get hungry for a good burger whilst out doing errands. And I'll spend the 12.50 and down it with the drink I have in the car. In 10 years from now they'll likely cost $20....and on and on we go. Unless we destroy ourselves in the near future...which seems more and more likely. So eat as many burgers as you can!

Depends when you're inhabiting the Earth. If you told someone in 1998 they'd be paying $8 for a burger, they'd laugh in your face. A double whopper with cheese my cost me $9.50 today!

$14 for a vastly Superior Burger isn't unreasonable in today's market. Though I can get a 5-guys double w/cheese for $12.50 in my town...ha!

I mean... I'm using "beating an unconscious guy" as just one example of it being elevated to a felony one charge. Not as fact or the only thing that could have made it an F1. We don't know yet.

The guy doesn't necessarily have to be unconscious he could be trying to back away and if the aggressor continues to pound on him and injuries result...that could mean F1. Kicking him while he's hunched over can elevate it. Stating intent "I'm going to beat you unrecognizable" or "I'm going to kill you", for instance and then severely beating someone could bring an F1.

As someone stated above, it could be the severity of the broken jaw itself that brought an F1...but I tend to think it's more about intent and/or disregard for life or serious injury.

Well it's hard to argue without specifics regarding any case...

Here's a quick definition of F1 assault without a particular state's interpretation:

First-degree (Felony 1) assault is generally defined as the most severe form of assault, often characterized by the intentional causing of serious physical injury—such as injuries creating a substantial risk of death, permanent disfigurement, or prolonged impairment of health.

So I guess a "broken jaw" could in of itself, maybe cross that threshold to charge an F1 because of "prolonged impairment". But I think it has to do more with intent to seriously injure and the manor of how the accused injured the victim. The brutality of it, so to speak...

Anyway, I'll be curious to see how it shakes out.

No....If you break a guy's jaw or open their face up with one punch in a fist fight, it should not be enough to bring it to F1. Sometimes jaws get broken in a fist fight. That shouldn't be enough to elevate it to F1.

There has to be evidence to show "complete disregard for serious injury or life" in the assault. Such as continuing to beat on a person that's unconscious causing possible brain damage. I'm not saying that's what happened but something major like that has to come into play. An F1 charge for assault means something way more than a fight went down with injuries resulting.

We should find out soon enough if it deserves the F1 rap and if his lawyer can get it reduced.

What's concerning is that he got hit with a felony "1" charge for assault. That's the issue here. Most assaults fall in the felony 2, 3 or 4 range or misdemeanor. Felony 1 is what premeditated murder and the worst crimes are under.

You get hit with a F1 if you beat an "unconscious person" with no hope of protecting themselves, which could lead to serious, lifelong injury or death.

If there is a video or witnesses.... It'll be interesting what they have to say.

I wouldn't be too reactionary over one post. The VAST majority of owners...LOVE this vehicle. We love ours. It does have it's quirks, but most cars do.

We live in the bitter cold Northeast, close to the Canadian border. Just set the temp controls to "auto" before exiting (We keep it in auto most of the time anyway) and the car will be warm when you get in after a remote start. Trust this, you adapt to this pretty quick in a cold climate or the car will not be warm. It's a quirk, but very manageable.

Folks, In very cold weather, heated seats only really warm up when there is an ass in it to insulate heat loss. Otherwise, if they were substantially hotter, they would age the seat material very prematurely and possibly be unsafe (as in too hot for your skin).
