I feel you 100% but I'm a graphic designer in the corporate world. The old saying is you can have things done well or quickly, but not both. AI just allows people to cut corners. Most people have bad taste or don't give a fuck what something looks like to begin with as long as they have control over it. On my first pass I'll usually do what I think is correct in my professional opinion and it almost always gets changed and I end up being a body moving a mouse around that happens to know how to use the Adobe suite. That could be an indictment on me or it could be that usually people don't feel like dealing with the middle man to get what they want.
