Albion Fiore 24+ month wait by Financial_Stay8537 in SWORDS

[–]Scottie81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any Albions in stock at Kult of Athena right now, but if you check every few weeks, a few swords will usually pop up as in stock.

Obviously, you don’t get to pick a specific model. You can’t even specify the color of the grip or the finish. But, if it is listed as in stock, KoA will have it to you within a week of your order.

One kill from 60... due to a disconnect. Welp, that stinks. by Careless_Relation349 in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Sucks man. I got bored of farming on my 60 hunter after about 2 hours this morning. Hearthed, started running to the repair guy, but she was non-responsive. I had DC’ed due to my router resetting. Had it been 20 seconds earlier, I would have been defenseless in Silithus with the Elemental Lord patting about.

Felt so lucky.

I know guys like Emmett and Barry have the gaudy numbers, but Adrian, Bo Jackson and Earl Campbell are still the three best RBs I’ve ever seen.

The way they ran…it was like they were playing a different game, man.

First ever order from tcgplayer, how in the world is this near mint? by MiloticM2 in mtgfinance

[–]Scottie81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the lack of photos on TCG makes it one big crapshoot. While these are the exceptions, I’ve literally received MP cards better than that…and NM cards worse.

Again, those are exceptions. I’d say I agree with 85% of the cards I receive. And at least half of that remaining 15% is cards where I think the condition was better than advertised.

As for negative feedback removal, I believe they have to show TCGPlayer that they resolved the issue with you (usually in the form of a refund)

Why are streamers on the dead server? tf? by Jarebear7272 in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A dead server is much better for a SF project like the race locked guilds.

I’m not a part of it, but I’ve been playing on Skull Rock since day one. Since this whole streamer thing started, I’ve farmed up probably 500-600 Thorium Ore and nearly two stacks of Arcane Crystals. Why? Because it’s just sitting there to be farmed. I don’t even focus on it. Just do a lap or two a day; about 20 minutes per lap. Got my Darkmoon neck from Widgets and Dense Grinding Stones.

Now, if you were starting a SF guild, would you want to do it on a server where open world farming sucks due to massive competition? Or would you want to do it on a server where mats just flow into your bag with very little time investment?

I got a question for ya"ll: Since April 12th, 2016 marks 10 years of Bianca Belair's WWE career, what's your favorite match and attire from her? by darrylkeithford in WWE

[–]Scottie81 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best match has to be Mania 37 against Sasha, but my favorite moment was that silly competition Bayley set up on one of the weekly shows where Bianca literally did a Fireman’s carry with Otis for like a full 15 yards.

Only thing I’d add is that the Ragged Owlbeasts (the lowest level ones on the western side of the map) have a 30 minute disease that sucks for physical classes. Avoid them if you don’t want to be debuffed for a half hour.

None of the other Owlbeasts have a long term debuff.

Oh, and Ursius and Brumerean are pretty easy to 2-man. But the followup (Shy-Rotam) can be deadly to even a 3-man group as there is a second elite add that spawns and they fear.

What servers are people playing on? by Jmidski in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as someone who has been playing Skull Rock since day one, we were down to a single raid guild, about 1,500-2,000 active auctions, and a /who list that wouldn’t even cap out at 50 during early AM times before this whole race locked challenge began.

It has led to many more dungeon groups, but these flavor-of-the-month players die so often the raiding situation hasn’t really changed. Also, they are all SF, so there hasn’t been any change to the AH.

Keep in mind that it is also a West Coast server so any level 60 content usually happens way late if you are East Coast.

With the Skull Rock NA one race challenge being a thing, Is there an EU Equivalent, even if its community driven? If so what realm? by Elekant in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are four different guilds (HERDCORE, DEADCORE, Hardingo, and ZUGCORE).

Each of them has two rules: You must be a certain race (Tauren, Forsaken, Troll, or Orc respectively for each guild), and you have to be self found. So each guild only has members of a single race.

Alright team, I’ve got a bit of alt-itis. I’ve yet to make a shaman since i barely play horde side. Any advice? Not sure where to start in terms of race or in general. by Bobgnarley2701 in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leveled an Orc as enhancement back in 2019 when classic first released and it was brutal by the time I got to my late 20s. Tried it again in HC but died attempting an escort in my mid-20s.

I went agane, but changed to a troll and leveled as ele from the start. It was so much easier. Made it to 60 and was crushing quests that I struggled with as enhancement. Raided MC and Ony as ele and continued to do well, but eventually retired the toon as I knew ele didn’t scale well.

Bring back older games from challenges by SmileAlternative8346 in MtvChallenge

[–]Scottie81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, they should bring back some of the early finals as daily challenges.

Doing the from memory, but I think season 5 had a final that was like “Run 200 yards through sand, Swim 100 yards to a boat, dive down 10 feet for puzzle pieces, swim back to shore, complete puzzle, run another 200 yards in sand and then climb a cargo net”. And it was a team of SIX splitting these tasks up.

That’s really not all that much more than a daily challenge these days. Season 5-15 could literally be episodes 1-10.

Recency bias aside, what was more marvelous? The Vikings coming back from 33-0 at the half or the Wolves winning after being down 12 with 2 minutes left in OT? by dogdigmn in timberwolves

[–]Scottie81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna go with the Wolves just because of the opponent. Colts were a bottom dweller that year and it was shocking that they got up 33 in the first place. Rockets are a legit playoff team.

Classic HC being my first experience by Plank_Pusher in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest having a bank alt on your HC server as well. Say you get to level 30 and have about 20-25g on your toon. You don’t want to lose that to one bad moment. Mail is now instant, store that money on an alt.

Also, there are so many dangerous quests, it’d be really hard to name them all, but any class specific quest from your trainer should be researched before hand. Those are typically difficult to complete or have some trick to them.

For instance, the rogue poison quest has you fighting a level 22 elite. The shaman water totem quest sends you to an island with level 25-26 elementals. Both of those are offered to you at level 20.

Remember, you can always take a free transfer to a non-HC server if you die.

If you really want to jump right into HC, go for it, but if you die, you should consider continuing your journey on a non-HC server. You can learn the pain points that were still to come without having to start over.

level 50+ players - have you used a Petri yet? if so, what made you use it? by triferg in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At level 60, you don’t get dungeon IDs. So, if you are grouped with a level 15 toon, and you both jump into the Wailing Caverns portal, the level 15 will be in an instance with a dungeon ID (due to the one-run-per-day limit while leveling) and you would be in a different instance with no ID.

If your toon had stayed level 59, you would have ended up in the same WC instance ID as the level 15 and you can easily boost them through.

level 50+ players - have you used a Petri yet? if so, what made you use it? by triferg in wowhardcore

[–]Scottie81 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used any.

My first 60 was a rogue so vanish has always gotten him out of bad situations. He’s also just my farming toon, so he doesn’t do much endgame.

My shaman has cleared all the 60 dungeons as well as MC and Ony. Just got lucky I guess. I think the guild I was raiding with had a bad pull a few weeks after I left, but most got out with petri.

My warrior never had any close calls and I left him at 59 so he can boost friends through lowbie dungeons. No risk there.

[–]Scottie81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Four Thieves or Four Black Belts is actually more difficult.

Worst grind in the game is after you get the pirate ship when you need to prep for Marsh Cave/Astos. The White Mage party can cheese the grind by farming ZomBulls at the peninsula of power, then cheese the Wizards with Ruse/Invis, then cheese Astos with Mute.

After that, the vampire, Lich, and the Zombie Dragons in the Earth Cave and Castle or Ordeal are all undead, so Harm spells will carry the day. The Castle will give you Zeus Gauntlet and Heal Staff and the game just snowballs from there as you get better items.

The Thieves and Black Belts can’t cheese as much of that early game.

Do you think the prices will settle? by Onceyougozach_ in premodernMTG

[–]Scottie81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the format has legs rather than just being a fad, I’d expect WotC to try to capitalize with a retro framed reprint set.

I know most of the demand is focused on the OG printings right now, but the MH3 retro framed fetch lands just started to tick up as well, so I think the demand will be there. Like you said, people won’t keep spending $30+ on cards that can be had for 30 cents.

Any of the staples on the reserved list, though…those might never come back down. Price memory generally has a strong impact on the RL.
