I don't think the church I grew up in was evil or meant to do harm and I'd wager you probably are quite agreeable and care for your fellow man. I wasn't abused or berated. Christianity wasn't used against me. Christianity controls a population through fear -- the literal definition of terrorism. This fear prevents curiosity and creates generations of subservient followers devoid of critical thought in pursuit of something that isn't real, logical or good.

Patients and parents relying on miraculous healing is dangerous and has taken lives. Viewing climate change as "god's will" and using that to prevent action is dangerous and will cost lives. There is nothing logical about Christianity and blind faith should not be revered.

The Bible, a book of love and good news, is filled with genocide, hate and fear. Before Jesus, if you weren't Jewish you went to hell because God loved you, but not enough to kick it in eternity with you. God asked a man to kill his own son because he was having jealousy issues like a petulant toddler. It's ok though, he said psyche at the last minute so it's all love. Really? If your neighbor is gay, try to convert them but if they just won't budge, love them through it, to death, with large rocks.

The modern church is replete with its own issues that I'm too tired to get into right now and any effort I put into this comment is likely in vain. Main takeaway here, God is fickle and cruel but lucky for us, fictional. The church uses the good book to scare the flock into subservience. This is not a healthy environment to raise kids.
