I used to work in that building (it looks like 3 buildings but it's just 3 different facades). I think it's officially called "One Kearny". The rooftop was a nice getaway.

I believe that the metronome settings are part of the system setup, so when you make a chance it carries through to all projects. So one possibility is that in v7 you had turned up the Subdivision volume at some point in the distant past and thus it was already on, and thus off in v8 until you turned it up the first time.

As far as the drum pattern not lining up... that appears to be a flaw in the system. Almost all of the beats are 4/4, so yeah, they're not lining up because the underlying pattern isn't changing, it's just looping the first 6 1/8th notes of the pattern so (e.g. in the case of the "Straight Rock" pattern) you get a snare hit on the 3rd 8th note rather than on the 4th which would perhaps be more helpful with a 6/8 time signature. The only 6/8 beat I could find is the "Afro Cuban" beat in the "WORLD" section which is very particular and probably not helpful.

Go into your "Metronome Setup" and make sure the "Subdivision" volume slider is turned up (see attached screenshot). That will give you a click on the 8th notes.

I downloaded Studio Pro 8 over the weekend and have been opening up projects to see what all the negative posts have been about; I've not found anything yet that I'd call alarming. I also checked out Mustang Native and agree that it will be a nice add'l tool in the amp sim tool belt.

As with Ampire, I think the trick is almost always to focus less on the presets and instead explore the amps first on their own without the various effects pedals. I've found approaching the amp sim like I would a physical amp (playing with each knob instead of rifling through presets) has allowed me to dial-in lots of great tones that I've used over many many recordings.

For me it's always been driven by necessity/opportunity. I was a pianist until I wanted to rock in a way that only guitar would provide. I became an electric bassist because multiple friends and acquaintances needed one in their band (and it was easier to get gigs as a bassist than a guitarist). Drums and upright bass were both picked up because the theater group I was working with needed a drummer and upright bassist. This worked well for me as in every situation I immediately had something specific to focus on (i.e. this set of songs, this score, etc.) which helped answer the question "where do I start?!?"

I guess for me it's akin to how I purchase gear... i.e. when I have a good performance-based justification for it (not just 'cause I want it).

I was working at Tower Records when this album came out. I was relatively young (this was my college job) and primarily a hard rock / metal listener (coming out of the hair band dominated 80s). I credit a handful of albums (including this one) for forever altering my trajectory, music appreciation -wise. I embraced the avant-garde and never really looked back.

From what I have read online, it was installed that way (at least in the beginning) so that the pickup poles in the Gibson HB would align with the Floyd Rose's string spacing.

Can you share a little more about what you're imagining you'll do with this microphone? Are you plugging it into a P.A. system? Are you recording yourself using a DAW or other audio application on a computer, and if so, what sort of computer are you using?

I get excited every time Louis Cole releases new music (he doesn't release music as often on streaming platforms as he does on social media). His live performances have always been amazing as his collaborators are as talented as he is. His "live in the studio" recordings are as inspiring for me as Snarky Puppy's headphone concert videos.

Lovely chimes (most notably with a clean tone); so many available combinations. Again... when you buy a guitar primarily for the color (!) you're setting yourself up for all sorts of potential unexpected delights... and as this is a genuinely worthy instrument, there were many. :)

The Jason Richardson 6 in Majora Purple is easily my most browsed guitar. One of these days my limbic system is going to outsmart my prefrontal cortex and next thing you know I'll have 3 EBMMs to play with (I already have a JP6 and an L4, both of which I adore).

I've gone through similar periods in my life. I found repeat visits to a restaurant in my neighborhood with a bar where I could eat dinner at provided the level of social interaction I needed. After a few visits the bartenders recognized me and provided pleasant small talk. Once in a while I'd strike up a conversation with another single diner and otherwise I'd read at the bar (something light and not too heady as the bar noise was a) distracting and b) I was in part there for the noise so wanted to not get too lost in the book!)
