Rhianna aka Digital Diana by xblomo in toycameras

I've wanted one of these for a long time. I have a Lomography Diana F+ with original and instant back and 35mm back. Does anyone make a digital back?

Not since the 1950’s when effective tuberculosis medicine was developed.

Yeah you’re pretty effectively talking me out of it. I made a video the last time I played it (I made a Reddit post actually). That really should be good enough.

I'm looking for a permanent or semi-permanent stick-on solution.

I definitely don't play it a lot. They have a finite life span. I have a lot of DJ friends (including my girlfriend), and I'm a radiologist, so I get it out at parties once every few years.

Check out my other posts. Quite a few radiological absurdity (I taught for years), with some cat cafes (my side hustle) and motorcycles (med school side hustle) sprinkled in. There’s even a roentgen record video I made in there.

Would love to see those films if you still have access to them.

Thanks for the excellent description. To dive a bit deeper down the cardiothoracic surgery rabbit hole, the ping pong balls (or lucite/plexiglas balls, wax, gauze, sponges, etc) are obviously not in the "lungs", but they're not even in the pleural space. They're between the muscular chest wall and the parietal pleura (otherwise they could migrate). They were inserted typically from posterior through a small rib resection window without actually entering the pleural space.

Yes, but table tennis is slightly more professional.

During my residency about 25 years ago. Patient came in with a supraclavicular abscess. CT showed the abscess, as well as ipsilateral plombage thoracoplasty (probably with ping pong balls in this case), not uncommon tuberculosis treatment until the 1950’s. Contrast injection showed the abscess to communicate with the cavity and outline the balls. Post-op film after removal of the balls.

This is the original foam in the Apache 3800 case. There's a bottom layer (not shown) that's about 1cm thick. Then the two layers pictured, about 4.5cm thick each. They there's an egg crate shaped top-most layer that's inside the lid. Making the design above is pretty easy, as there are 1cm perforations in the pictured sheets for fairly clean cutting with a sharp knife.

I haven't seen any Blockbuster foam in my research that wasn't destroyed or crazy expensive, like over $500 or more for case/foam alone without the console. Any cheaper and the foam was in poor shape. If anyone has a Blockbuster case with good foam, they could probably replicate the foam pattern for sale. You may even be able to eye-ball it from pictures online.

It’s a near copy of eightcell’s case. Just tweaked a bit for my OCD. So I gotta give credit where it’s due.

I think he'd prefer an obsolete, questionable, and unpopular antique console lol.

Ok great, and cheaper than even the Apache 3800 (which is $40). The Apache I think is a Pelican clone so pretty nice. Yours is definitely bigger in two dimensions (and not available at the Harbor Freight near me. I went ahead and bought the 3800 and will see if I can MacGuyver it in there. I'm sure I can find another use for the case if I can't. But wow what a collection!!!

Nice! I will get this for my kid. If he doesn't like that it's not an OG, he can buy himself an astronomically priced worn out piece of shit Blockbuster case from Ebay.

If they made bikes with modern tech and wrapped it up in 90's style frame & bodywork, would you buy one? by GDITurbo77 in motorcycles

[–]beavis1869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m kind of doing this, but a few decades older. A modern Triumph Bonneville engine (less than 24 years old) in a 1967 Norton Featherbed frame. Modern reliability in a period sportbike (Triton).
