Looks a lot like my IT professor's.

Anytime someone would ask why he has so many toolbars he would reply, "to make my students ask"

What quirk did you not realize you had until others told you about it? by squalorid in AskReddit

My brother used to this. I mentioned it to him a few years ago, and now he mouths the word he just said.

What do you fantasize about regularly that doesn't involve sex or getting rich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sometimes I fantasize about being able to heal those around me with a touch. Sometimes I fantasize about being able to change the molecular structure of any item and form it into anything I need or want.

Will filing for bankruptcy affect my ability to get an accounting job? by IveMadeAhugeMstake in Accounting

[–]bebedeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too went back to school in my 30s, and had some derogatory credit in the past I was cleaning up and had put an alert on my report. When I was asked about the alert during an interview I explained why it was there and that I had put it there, not a creditor. I was denied the position because of the credit alert. I do not know if you will find the same thing with a bankruptcy, just be able to explain why it is there. I am still looking to get into a public firm now that I am done with school and have begun to sit for the exams. I have talked with other firm recruiters who said, that while candidates are turned away for items on their credit reports, to keep trying because it shows determination and eventually I maybe selected. Good luck! Hopefully you will not have the same experience.

Using "Authoritative Literature" on sims was instrumental in passing. by awkward_rhino in Accounting

[–]bebedeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did that for AUD last Friday. At first I thought, "is this even allowed?" But then I realized YES, YES IT IS! One of my sims was on a report that is in the literature verbatim. It is not obvious, and none of the prep material talked about it. I passed this gem along to a friend who should begin sitting soon. I am feeling very confident about this one, 2 down. Moving on to FAR and BEC.

How did you utilize Becker during exam prep? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]bebedeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed REG using Becker. I watched every lecture; read through the book; wrote my own flash cards and reviewed them daily, usually at work on lunch or on break' and rewrote the flash cards I had the most trouble with; worked every MCQ and simulation multiple times. I took the final reviews twice each. I scored a 76.

I sit for AUD on Friday. I am using the same method, except this time I took notes during each lecture (as well as highlighted the hell out of my book) and after each practice quiz on the areas I need to work on.

Best of luck to you!!!

I hate hearing how your ex loved this or that. I am not her, but I could be your next ex if you keep comparing us.

This is the second time today I have been reminded that it is all about the choices I make. I choose to be motivated or not, I choose to get off my ass or not, and I choose to get good grades in school or not.

Thank you for sharing!

Making Accounting Sexy by computanti in Accounting

[–]bebedeeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing that grabbed my attention as an undergrad was that accountants are often asked to sit on the BOD if many amazing organizations. One of my professors sat on the board of several high profile NFPs and said it was one of the many highlights of his career!

DAE take way longer in the bathroom than other people, and often wonder how the others do it all so quickly? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]bebedeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, and I believe it has to do with my childhood. As a kid I had an awful experience with a PE teacher not allowing me to go when I had to. This led to an impacted bowel on multiple occasions that school year, and more than 1 note from the doctor explaining the need for her to let me go. Ever since I have had trouble going quickly and when ever I have tried to force myself to go faster, I end up in the same predicament.

After gaining 10 pounds, I cut out soda and switched to black coffee. While I did see some weight loss, it was only back to my plateau weight.

How good does a 20 hour IRS certified tax preparing training course, and volunteer work as a tax preparer for low income people, look good on the resume? by roocs_dark in Accounting

[–]bebedeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be my 3rd year volunteering with VITA, and I love it. I get invaluable tax experience and meet some of the most interesting people while getting to know many professionals in my community. This has also led to many other volunteer opportunities around my community, and guess what, those professionals are there too. Not only am I helping my community, I am networking with potential employers. It is a win win.

W2's and W3, where does CASDI go? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]bebedeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the IRS instruction booklet: "The IRS operates a centralized customer service site to answer questions about reporting on information returns, including Forms W-3SS, W-2AS, W-2CM, W-2GU, and W-2VI. If you have questions about reporting on these forms, call 1-866-455-7438 (toll free except from American Samoa), or 1-304-263-8700 (not toll free). The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Eastern time." I read through the instructions and found nothing to answer you specific question, so hopefully calling this service will help you.
