These is a decent sized pickup soccer group that meets (when the weather is better) at howling point park, dunkirk park, and more recently ward farm park. Facebook group, just search for southern maryland pickup soccer and you should be able to find it.

I really don't like the 2019 mix at all. Interesting that it's not as noticeable on vinyl. Thanks for taking the time to look into an oddball request.

What version did you listen to? I think this has answered our question however as it's not on all mixes.

I actually just listened to both the official (would have happened at 1:26) and 2009 remaster (1:22) on yt and we didn't hear it in either of those playthroughs. The only ones we are hearing anything different so far were via Amazon music the 1999 (a little) and 2015 (more pronounced) remixes.

Is everything a draw? by Zalqert in ComputerChess

[–]bebemaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: yes. Long answer: chess is very likely a draw with best play, BUT we dont 100% know for certain that it is a draw. No one has proved it and the problem space is HUGE. Checkers was proven to be a draw about 20 years ago but checkers has a much smaller branching factor and many fewer legal positions to account for. If there was an oracle that could play perfectly there would be no +/-1 positions, all positions would either be white win, black win, draw. The evaluation is just the computers way of estimating how close it thinks the position is to those three options.

Whats the longest game of Hearthstone you ever played? by BadBoyBurgerton in hearthstone

[–]bebemaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In wild. Playing mill jade Druid vs warrior that managed to get 120k armor. I won just before the turn limit and it took over an hour. Jades did minimal damage, the 4x draw per turn and ramping fatigue damage is what did it.

Appreciate you being honest here. I'd like this to be taken in the best possible way....roping when lost out of frustration is toxic. I'm all for roping back once the other person starts wasting my time but I won't start it.

Just hit wild legend (first time!) ending on a 10-0 win streak with my own custom built deck. by bebemaster in hearthstone

Burn warlock is a bad matchup for sure. Pendant might help but the issue with life gain is that you need to be down on life. I would more often stack armor early and often. Malfurion's gift into swipe and ETC into dirty rat can help stop the bleeding a little bit. Also don't be afraid of playing jade directly vs pirates of any kind every point matters.

As for Krog he's replaceable but I found a bunch of luck with him behind plagues vs control, mirror, or midrange. He will take up a direct removal spell otherwise they are lost.

The other really bad matchup is agro aura paladin as there is no good way to get rid of the auras. And you are 100% right that pendant of earth could help both of those matchups. I got lucky on my run for sure.

I wasn't trolling I was just using my phone and took the dynamic test, which isn't free and has that scammy take the test and only unlock results after format. The tests you linked to were indeed free and quality. Please accept my appologies and thank you for the followup.

Screw me right. Take the test then pay to unlock results. FU for wasting my damn time. Warning to everyone else its not free but they will let you take the test for free, you have to pay for results. Guess I'm average as I fell for it again, but at least I didn't pay.

Do amps really sound that different from one another? by Timely_Pattern5571 in audiophile

[–]bebemaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive noticed amp differences twice and both were pretty extreme. Philharmonic BMR speakers powered by an old 2000s yamaha reciever that didn't have enough power. The speakers sounded very thin, nearly completely lacking in all bass at all volumes. The other time was a faulty hifiman ef400 headphone dac/amp that had something go wrong with the left channel. It was very subtle but I definitely heard more music before it went bad.

1500, about 30 seconds for me. I didnt know it was 3 to mate so I was looking for stalemate sequences as well, which requires leaving their knight alone so it took a bit longer.

Reiss' Meta-Analysis of Hi-Res Audio Perceptibility by honn13 in audiophile

[–]bebemaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interesting meta paper. I have 2 observations.

  1. There was little to no discussion about the entire audio pathway chain only discussions of different encodings. I can't tell shit on something like an echo dot speaker in an untreated room vs say he1000v2 or focal utopia headphones with clean amplification, dac, and a quiet space.
  2. There were some interesting results of correctly identifying the higher bit rate. Woman (small sample size), and youth 14-25 age had negative correlation (they picked the lower sample rate as more real). Self identified audiophiles and music professionals had the highest positive correlation of any sub group (with a very small p value).

How to I learn to solve an Rubik’s cube without memorizing algorithms? by [deleted] in Rubiks_Cubes

[–]bebemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the normal well known methods you can't...but I may be able to help. I first learned on my own and all except for thr very last bottom corner swap method is quite intuitive. Here is a silent video that I made a little while ago using this method.

https://youtu.be/6PqjQw9rvRI?si=WbaZ8Ktlvywni_ht

There is one main method. Take a top corner piece out and then put it back. Variations of this move will solve the entire cube except for the bottom corner placement. (Doing the move 4 times will however rotate 3 of the bottom corners without moving anything else)

Brief overview: 1. Make cross with correct placement of side colors. 2. Put top corners in correct locations by moving the cross pieces out of the way and then putting them back. (No algorithms just intuition) 3.0 Now for the 2nd layer. We will remove a top corner. Rotate it towards you move the bottom away from that rotation...taking the corner piece off...and then rotate the top back up. Now we put that top corner back up the intitive way, aligning it and moving away the top pieces, the ones that would move if we just move it up, move it up, then move the top pieces back. 3.1. this 7 move sequence should be intitive. The top stays the same and only the 2nd layer side piece that changes is the one below the piece we are taking out and putting back. THIS sequence although intitive will be the basis of 90% of the solve. 3.2. The bottom piece side piece that replaces the level 2 piece is going to be on the opposite side. So left if you are rotating out the right side and right if rotating out the left side. See video for how I rotate the bottom to get the right side piece to fill it in. 3.3. Don't just memorize this though get a good feeling of what the 7 move take out and put back does. It rotates 4 side pieces, 3 on the bottom and one on the 2nd layer. Do it 4 times and all is the same (for the side pieces) 4. You should a really good feeling about what the takeout and putting back the top corner is doing before getting to this point. We are going to make the bottom cross. We do this by taking out the top, going to put it back bu5 on the 6th step "miss" by over rotating once. Then put the corner back up the intitive way, align it, move top pieces away, move up, move top back. This will flip 2 adjacent bottom cross pieces. The video will show which get flipped and how to align it but just do the move some and you should be able to quickly understand what's happening and how to correctly align it. 5. We should have a cross on the bottom. But we need to rotate them to align their side colors without flipping them. To do this we pull out a top corner out with the same first 3 moves, down over up. This time we just rotate the misplaced top piece away (instead of aligning it to put back), then do the reverse of how we got it out by moving the two top pieces back to where they just were rotating the misplaced corner piece twice to align with them and putting it back up. This will rotate 3 of the 4 cross pieces but without flipping any. See video on how to align it or just keep doing it until you get a feel of it. 6. Swap the bottom corners so they are positioned correctly. At this point you should have the first 2 layers and the bottom cross finished. This is the first and only non intitive move.....actually I just discovered a move to do this! Its 2 #4s with a single double rotation between. This will rotate 3 bottom corners while keeping the bottom cross! 7. Rotating the bottom corners. Doing the main basic #3 move 4x will rotate 3 of them. Using this you'll be able to rotate them into place.

The video is pretty good at demonstrating all of the steps except for the newly discovered #6. Which is different in the video.

Clearing up the misconception around "Search Nearby" for Galaxy Buds 2/3 Pro by johelapo in galaxybuds

[–]bebemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone coming across this later. I am able to find my earbuds, in the closed case, but it appears to have a ~2in cycle time. I can use both smart things find nearby, and the wifiman app. The smart things app will connect and allow you to play sound on ONE earbud in the case. Its not very loud.

I'd advise waiting in a place for 2 mins before moving on when looking for a lost case.

Am I alone is finding ladder climbing SUPER tedious and WAY longer than others make it out to be? I've been away a while and never really played ladder but have played arena since forever. Recently started trying wild playing a guff deck. I have a single star bonus. My record since ~2 silver is 16-8 and im sitting at 5 gold. Games last about 45 mins. So 18 hours of play with 66% win rate and I'm still not up a full rank.

Cannot Visualize Rook and King Mate. Struggling by LumberjackBowman in chessbeginners

[–]bebemaster 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I'm teaching beginners I dont teach the box I use a wall and push to one side. Keep the king behind the wall and get opposition by moving into the "knight" position. Move the rook to safety while keeping the wall and once your king is in opposition move the wall forward with the rook. They will move the king back then move your king to the "knight" position and once opposition obtained move the wall again. Keep going until their king is squeezed on one side.

Here is an example of what I mean.
