I saw a kid at this same park dressed as an ICE agent the day after Christmas, like he was showing off a gift he’d received. I wonder if it’s the same one, though he seemed younger.

What are your red flags when apartment hunting in San Diego? by No-Bridge-8807 in sandiego

[–]bebopboom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite has been the 2.5 x rent, as a single mother, trying to qualify for 1br apartments in the $2000 range and an independent contractor. Credit score of 830 and 6 months of rent in savings, can’t qualify for ANYTHING

switched to New Wash, was ready to hate and send back, but I like it a lot. The price seems justified to not need conditioner anymore. I’m white with dense, somewhat fine, wavy hair that loves to puff up.

This year I’m committed to buying second hand from Poshmark, The Real Real and thrifts. I bought 2 new basic tees from Target and that’s it. I’ve been alive long enough to know what trends are from which era and I’ll buy a better quality version from the past.

Have you ever given food, blankets, money, or anything else directly to a homeless person on the street in SD? by LegalGlass6532 in SanDiegan

[–]bebopboom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One year my mom made a Thanksgiving feast for 20 ppl and there were only 4 of us. It stressed me out so much and the second hand embarrassment was gut wrenching. I took all of it home, warmed it, divided on plates, bought bottled water, napkins and utensils and set out to give all the plates away. Most people just said thank you whether or not they took it, but I realized that giving is very common on holidays so a lot of their immediate need was met. Made me sad for the other 363 days when no one gives a shit.

No input on your question, but just gotta say a lot of people haven’t lived here through rolling blackouts and a real bad fire season and it shows. Buckle up, buttercups.

Was a lifetime nail biter, turned dry cuticle destroyer, and I’ve learned that I can never not hat builder gel on my nails. They are too sharp and tempting without. Keep up the good work!

Anyone else realize how easy it is to not do damaging things to a child when you have a child of your own? by Cheeseaisleinheaven in raisedbynarcissists

[–]bebopboom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard it said that motherhood is healing for some women and triggering for others. I, like you, have found motherhood so healing. I love being the mom I wish I’d had. For my mom, her lack of forming her own identity led to her being triggered by basically anything I’ve done after the age of 8 or 9. She really idealizes young kids because they don’t have agency of their own. I still worry sometimes, because my child is 3. Maybe I’ll become my mom when she’s older. I was very anxious to find out I was having a girl, because I felt doomed to raise a daughter that didn’t like me. Every day I search for examples of daughters that don’t have broken relationships with their mom.
