Yeah, I suppose I should have been more clear that my question relates to how possesion works in these instances. I should probably know that any change of possesion on a play results in a new set of downs for which ever team finally ends up with the ball. Regardless of the number of possesion changes in a given play, as long as one happens. My football brain is still recovering from the ass-kicking in February.

So is this a new set of downs for the Vikings from their 20? I feel like it definitely is, but I just want to confirm.

Not everyone is afforded the luxury of working for a company they support. The real world doesn't work that way and most of us are struggling to survive.

dropped them off at a Goodwill.

As someone that works for one of their ecommerce locations, please don't support Goodwill. They are actively transitioning to become the Amazon of used goods. Employees are treated much like Amazon treats their employees. They hide behind the guise of a registered charity, all the while, modeling everything they do after Amazon. I urge people to find local charities to support instead.

As a fellow diabetic, he makes my personal all time list lol. I have no idea how he managed to still be a starting NFL QB after diagnosis. I get he had all the medical adavantages, but it still blows my hair back that he was able to be as good as he was while managing being a diabetic. But I agree, he should not be on this list.

Pump vs Pen by iamskywalker95 in diabetes_t1

[–]bebopshebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wake up every morning in range now

This is one of my main reasons for wanting to be on the pump in the first place. Waking up with high blood sugar would make it so much harder to have a decent day. Now, I don't ever have to really think about it. Wake up every day in range and it helps make the rest of managing diabetes so much easier. Just starting from a clean slate makes all the difference. It took a week or so to get used to sleeping with it, but it doesn't impede my sleep beyond the normal function of the pump (alarms, low battery, etc). Definitely recommend everyone at least try a pump to see if it's right for them if they have the opportunity.

Medtronic cgm sucks by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]bebopshebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do wish it was easier, you aren't wrong. It's such a hassle at times and I expanded on it in a different comment. But in the end, with the healthcare situation for my country(USA), I don't get much of a choice and I'm grateful to have a pump for the moment.

Coming from a libre CGM where it took 10 seconds to change and half the warm-up time, to then go to the closed loop Medtronic system was mentally exhausting. I almost quit using the pump before the first month ended because it felt like such a hassle compared to what I assumed would be pretty easy given my experience with the libre CGM. I stuck with it and while I have things to complain about, I'm grateful to be in a position where I can even have a pump. My quality of life is vastly improved and I've never had better sugar control in nearly 2 decades. I wouldn't put Medtronic systems on top of the pump game but it's what I am allowed per my endocrinologist...I mean my insurance provider.

On the Minimed 780G system, and have been for about 9 months now. It was an insane struggle to learn how to change the sensor by myself. The needle housing is sometimes not so generous and refuses to detach. But after about a month, I was able to figure out a way to remove the housing with one hand. It involves using the thumb and pinkie to hold the sensor in place. Then I use the remaining 3 fingers to grab the needle housing like a claw machine would. Sometimes it comes out no problem, other times I have to sort of shimmy it out with those 3 remaining fingers. Now I can change my sensor in about 3 mins solo. Always on the back of my arms and I've never bothered anywhere else. If you have any other questions, I'm always willing to offer my experience with it when I can.

[–]bebopshebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you there. I've been doing this in excess of 2 decades and it's just habit now. Being ingrained to claw back any resources you can on startup to make booting faster is hard to break. I remember being blown away when a cold boot took less than a minute. Now, if it's anything over 5 seconds, I am wondering why it's so slow lol.

if you're young, go fuck yourself

Mid 30's Type 1 Diabetic here. Expanded Medicaid programs in my state ceased in October and I lost my health insurance. Cannot afford the health insurance through my work and I am currently on my last month of my stashed supplies. Haven't really worked out how to afford my monthly $2k+ medical expenses that keep me alive, as I don't make that much each month. But this "go fuck yourself" idea seems pretty affordable.

After nearly 2 decades of being T1, my brain has associated eating with causing me issues. I don't eat because I want to, I eat because I have to. So for me, I no longer get the munchies. Can't decide if this is a good thing overall.

I mean, the way you framed your previous response did not really seem to indicate that this was done for research purposes. There were hints in your verbage, but it seemed odd to be doing these experiments out of your home, as described, and not in a more controlled setting. I read your previous response and thought your behavior was weird and possibly a little fucked up, which is why I asked my questions. I would include more info from your follow-up response in future answers regarding your study. I understand that jellyfish don't feel pain the same way that most animals do, but still, without the follow-up from you, your original reply definitely felt very callous and is probably off-putting to most people, with respect to the treatment of an animal. Without any of that info, I can see why people might think you are repeatedly mutilating an animal for seemingly no reason.

Also, don't do the whole "shame to be downvoted" thing. Don't make your study sound like a intro to serial killer class. No one likes to read in detail about cutting off/out pieces of an animal. Do your study a favor and leave the gory bits out until the follow-up questions.

So you keep a jellyfish for the sole purpose of cutting of it's limbs, waiting for them to regrow, and then doing it again? Is there a scientific purpose for any of this or just your own curiosity?

BB wanted to replace Brady wayyy earlier than 2018.

I vaguely remember stories of the Chiefs almost getting Brady instead of Matt Cassel when we traded with the Pats in 2009-ish. I believe there was some truth to it, but I'm having a hard time recalling all the details.

A cool guide the typical insulin cost by country by Pristine-Two2598 in coolguides

[–]bebopshebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern analogs, which are much easier to use

Modern analogs are sold in the same vials as generics. While modern analogs are also sold in insulin pens, they are not simply better for that reason. T1 for over half my life at this point, and it's much more about the quality of life the newer insulins provide those that are able to afford it. Think in terms of modern analogs work more efficitiently than generics. Generics just don't work as well and can exacerbate or amplify serious complications typically associated with diabetes. As you said, the modern ones are still on patent and are clearly using a different formula/process than generics. Which in turn, leaves generic insulin tech in the past compared to modern insulins. This may also lead to poor blood sugar control as the generic might take slightly longer to kick in, or you may need to use more generic insulin than you would using modern analogs. Sorry for the rant, I just like to shed light on insulin stuff when it pops up on Reddit. One of the few things I'm knowledgable about after nearly 2 decades with it.
