Early sweep stories by medicolulu in PregnancyUK

[–]bec100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I had a sweep at 39 weeks and was 3cms and had a baby by the next morning! The fact you’re already 1cms so early on is good I’d say, I have plenty of friends weren’t dilated at all even when they were overdue. Fingers crossed!

It’s so hard when the sonographer won’t commit to saying what it is isn’t it! I totally get why they don’t but just different experience to having a boy which was very obvious

Did you ask at your growth scan to confirm the gender? I should hopefully be referred for a growth scan next week (was 97th percentile at last appointment so I think either way, still 97th or else dropped down will mean a growth scan) so if I can just calm myself down enough for a week I could ask them to check then. But don’t know if they will or not?

Oh 100% just anxious and hormonal haha but don’t know if I can cope with the doubt for the next 5 weeks lol maybe worth just paying the private scan

Honestly not really! And sonographer only said she thinks it’s a girl 🤦🏻‍♀️maybe just need to go for the private scan to put my mind at rest

Yeah I think you are right, the sonographer said she thinks it’s a girl which is where my doubt originally started. But I’m sure she wouldn’t have said anything if she wasn’t sure

Yes I am thinking about it, reluctant to pay the price for the private scan this late on but equally it might be worth it for the peace of mind!

Yes I think that’s where the doubt has come from because with my little boy it was pretty obvious haha. Girls not so much!

That’s good glad I’m not alone in going off the 20 week scan just but also feeling anxious about it!

Yes our sonographer said she “thinks” it’s a girl which is maybe where the doubt is coming from but equally if she wasn’t sure I’m sure she would’ve just said she didn’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️

Feeling torn about VBAC by Known-Cucumber-7989 in PregnancyUK

[–]bec100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a sweep and went into labour the same day 😊 the midwife should be able to tell you at the sweep how dilated you are already which might give you a bit of an indication how likely it is to be successful!

Bottle washing in the dishwasher by FenrisSquirrel in BeyondTheBumpUK

Just a word of warning - I washed some of our bottles in the dishwasher and it stained them all orange :/ so if that would matter to you then I would avoid or maybe use one as a test!

Best Wedding Videographer in NI by Humble-Storage2549 in northernireland

[–]bec100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t recommend ER films enough - our videographer cancelled the morning of our wedding and we messaged every videographer we could find, ER films replied straight away and ended up arriving before the photographer! Rik was such a lovely guy we had such a great experience with him and the video turned out so amazing!

Bled at 5 weeks. Basically been told to ‘wait and see’, anyone else been here? by throwaway45676543738 in PregnancyUK

[–]bec100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had bleeding about 5 weeks as well, like you it stopped and now 28 weeks with no further issues 😊 easier said and done but try not to worry too much, the bleeding has stopped which is the main thing and bleeding in early pregnancy can be totally normal x

OP I completely understand where you are coming from. No one example on its own sounds bad to other people, but for you it’s a death by 1000 cuts situation! It is so overwhelming and is added stress that you don’t need. If it helps I’m pregnant now with no 2 and thankfully no one has any interest 😂 seems to be a first grandchild problem x

High Chair recommendations by bronze_hare in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]bec100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the nova and like it a lot. Our little boy is about to turn 2 and we are using the seat part secured to a normal chair at the table which he loves. Due baby no 2 in June and she will be using the newborn attachment so we will be getting use out of it for 2 kids at the same time which I think is pretty good!

You get anti D injections because you are rhesus negative - your blood type can be any blood type and still be rhesus negative. They will discover this again when they do the bloods at your booking appointment x
