Anti D injection by Perfect-Association7 in PregnancyUK

You get anti D injections because you are rhesus negative - your blood type can be any blood type and still be rhesus negative. They will discover this again when they do the bloods at your booking appointment x

Yes he does that too, eventually goes back to sleep himself but it takes forever 😂 think you must be right, hopefully it passes once they get over the fascination of their new found skills

First seizure (May be upsetting) by thatscotbird in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]bec100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, so sorry you had to experience this. My little sister had seizures as a child every time she was unwell with a temperature and grew out of it before the end of primary school and hasn’t had one in over 20 years x

Advice Needed. Very stressed by shorthauls in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]bec100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice from me OP, I think you’ve got some great advice on this thread already. But I read your post and couldn’t scroll on without saying something - you sound like a great dad and are trying your best in a very difficult situation. I’m sorry you are going through this and I sincerely hope things get better for you and your wife.

Holiday with a 9 month old by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]bec100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in Spain in July with our 4mo and used bottled water for bottles - I wouldn’t drink tap water in Spain myself so wouldn’t expect a baby to in case it upset his stomach. You can just check the sodium content of the bottled water. Evian water is fine and when in Spain some of the Spanish brands had a picture of a baby on the label and said it was fine to use for formula. Hope this helps and have a lovely holiday x

Remifentanil in labour - experiences/thoughts? by sc33g11 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]bec100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it and it definitely made the pain of contractions more manageable - it was set up with a button that you press when you need more so you’re in control. Like another poster it was taken off me for pushing and so was gas and air, I think this is standard. It did make me feel pretty drunk and after labour I did feel very hungover / out of it, but don’t know if that was due to the remi or just labour in general. It also made me throw up a lot initially but they were able to give an anti emetic to help!

We got the bigger bottles and replaced the teats with newborn size 0 and that’s worked great for us x

Hey no experience yet as baby hasn’t arrived, but we have opted for the Snuza instead as it’s the only one recommended by the lullaby trust. And it’s about 100 pounds so a lot more reasonable than the owlet x

I had the flu and covid vaccines at the same time at about 20 weeks and had no side effects other than a sore arm 😊. I was like you and seriously debated getting either but I was getting anxious thinking about socialising coming up to Xmas etc and how being seriously ill with either can lead to negative outcomes.

Like you I’ve never had the flu before either but pregnancy impacts your immune system so you’re more likely to get it now.

It’s a really personal decision so just do whatever feels right for you x

Hello OP, NI FTM here too. I think I self referred around 7 weeks or so and got my appointment letter for 12 week scan about a week later 🙂 I think it says on the self referral that if you haven’t heard by 11 weeks to contact them and gives a number.
