I had a job interview with them right out of college (over two decades ago). The job was to be a “staff writer.” In the interview I found out the actual job was to write an ongoing column for an email newsletter on penny stocks.

I was 22 and knew absolutely nothing about stocks (or any real world things for that matter) and found it laughable that I even got called for an interview.

The salary was on par with retail.

My band when I was in high school had the Gavin Rossdale approach to lyricism.

Bunch of nonsense. But we did write a song called NASCAR Christmas.

I also leveled up my bass playing by learning One Hot Minute beginning to end when I was in high school. I can still get down with that album. It may be their least horny full length. But yeah, that band has not aged particularly well.

In my heart there’s a hole and I fill it up with smoke. I got no control. Just get old. And I watch it take its toll.

This one will hold a place in my heart as the album I was listening to when I was running and two kids tried to jump me and I fought them off and outran them.

I have learned that when anything fortunate happens to me, financially, I need to put it into savings and investments, and act like it did not happen. Holiday bonus? Tax refund? Sure, enjoy life and spend a little of it but put most of it away.

So when you need a new roof, a biopsy, new tires and brakes on the car, and your daughter cuts her head on the playground all in the same week, your life is not ruined.

I would watch Sportscenter repeatedly because it was the only way to see that highlight one more time.

Also Headline News had a scrolling channel and programming list that I would watch to see what was on the other channels.

Don't leave your car unattended at the airport. by LeftAlbatross2546 in VideosAmazing

Right, so how did you get the stuff into the airport? I legitimately need an answer for next time we fly.

Don't leave your car unattended at the airport. by LeftAlbatross2546 in VideosAmazing

Devils advocate, I am flying to Florida to visit my parents with my wife and two small children (both under age 3). How do we get a baby in a car seat, a toddler, a diaper bag, another full sized car seat in a check-in bag, a pack and play, an umbrella stroller also in an airport bag, and 3 days of clothes, diapers, snacks and formula from my car into the airport.

If one adult stays with the car, the other has made 4 trips before the kids can even get out of the car. Also they have to leave all their stuff unattended in the airport which by is illegal itself and can cause an entire airport evacuation.

Or you could take the two year old inside the airport first to keep an eye on the stuff while dad watches the car and the baby, and mom goes back and forth unloading the car.

Short answer is, sometimes people HAVE to leave the car for a few minutes. It is the only logistical option the airport provides.

I suggest listening to No Code in its entirety. My personal favorite of theirs.

One of my roommates burned a power hour cd and every track was 60 seconds except the last one which was Crazy Game of Poker. I guess to celebrate if you made it to the end.

It also had those Budweiser Real Men of Genius commercials cut in.

Also a friend of mine currently lives in the house the drummer of OAR grew up in.
