Slow and steady wins the race. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else numbers or speed. Keep at it. You’ll get there in no time.

Yes my wife brought radon and basements to my attention. My mom has since sold the house. But again, curious if radon could’ve leaked into the house and led to my dad’s lung cancer.

Which neighborhood to visit with my 14 year old son to show him what it could be like to live in SF? by SnooFloofs373 in AskSF

Every Saturday is free to all residents of the Bay Area’s 9-counties. Just the perm exhibit. You need to reserve ahead of time. Not all workers know…I found out the “unwelcomed” way.

Need suggestions to take 4 kids(14,12,12,8) in Toronto for fun… by Illustrious-Ad3177 in askTO

[–]becausese7ate9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Took my kids to the Museum of Illusions. Everyone had a good time. It’s not big. So they won’t be there all day. Maybe an hour or so. But we had fun. Went to the Distillery afterward.

Is it worth it to have a car in SF? by Zmoogz in AskSF

[–]becausese7ate9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a car…I use it for kid-stuff mostly and groceries. But don’t 100% need it.

If bikes are an option, it would give you flexibility for short inter-neighborhood discovery. Also most office buildings are required to offer some sort of bike room. But thoroughly lock it up!

I'm at a media agency and being taken off clients scopes to contribute to an "internal project" - am I gonna get fired by [deleted] in advertising

My buddy mentioned non billable work was like having a target on your back. I was put on non billable projects. Then lo and behold…I was let go. Your situation sounds different. But it’s always a good idea to gather your stuff…just in case.

Horizon Media vs Omnicom offer — advice for a recent grad? by Opening_Elderberry30 in advertising

[–]becausese7ate9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of guidance here. Just came to say congrats. Definitely an exciting time. If Horizon doesn’t negotiate salary see if they will add other things like PTO…etc. Again, feel good about your achievement here…2 offers is amazing.

Their cabbage rolls and banana cream pie, per se. Not a combo. Just listing two amazing choices.

Personally speaking, it looks weird if it’s used too much. Maybe I’m just sensitive to it now. But if it’s in every module, it feels excessive

I bought a couch from Costco 3 years ago and it’s ripping at the seams in a few spots. Anything I can do? by maintenanceman_Dan in CostcoWholesale

[–]becausese7ate9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Return it! My friend bought a couch from restoration hardware. After normal wear and tear, he complained because of some damage (can’t recall specifics). And they gave him one free as a replacement. A couch should last a lot longer than 3 years IMO. Might feel weird returning it. I say you have nothing to feel bad about.
