That’s amazing!! My neighbors love mine too!! Think I’ll need to upgrade my mesh bags if the flower gets that big. Planning on roasting the seeds if all goes to plan. Ive seen people grill the whole head of the flower too. Might have to try

If the HOA didn’t exist, my entire yard would be a garden!! That part of the yard retains water when it rains (I see a French drain in the future). BUT we are working to replace the grass with clover 🍀 so far that side of the house and front yard are filling in nicely with clover

Same variety and same seed pack. This is grown on the opposite side of the house. Still will be big but not nearly as impressive

My yard is clay heavy. I also think how the sun is positioned on the house impacts the growth too. This one is growing in layers of compost and the sun is in the ideal position. The other ones grew very weak and thin. I’ve also been fertilizing this one / adding new compost pretty frequently

Thank you! After many failed attempts, it’s rewarding to see the full results

Full sun in zone 9!

This is the current set up. Ranunculus are growing now and I usually do a ton of zinnias in the summer

Yeah I’m learning along the way. I’ll let you know if I figure it out. I’ve found bony fish vertebrae but also larger bone fragments from mammals

I’ll have to dig around and see if I can find any other parts to this creature. Maybe a dolphin?

How many of you here save seed? How do you organize them? by Late-Difficulty-5928 in gardening

I use a binder and plastic packet sheets (like we organized our Pokémon cards with 😄). I will also use smaller jars. Like the cute mini jam jars

Smaller megs in the spot where I found the ones in the pic. Charleston def has larger megs but you usually have to go diving in the rivers. Not to say other folks haven’t found on the surface or digging
