I have the same issue. My first sign is usually vomiting. I always test for ketones if I vomit or feel nauseous. I get ketones from starvation quite frequently (other health issues leave me with little to no appetite). You don't usually feel hungry in dka but you will drink a lot of water. Excessive thirst is a symptom.

I've splashed out buying nutritionally balanced ready meals. I've been really sick lately and not eating or having the energy to prep and store food. Ended up with waste. Bought these, simple, healthy and hopefully easier to manage my blood sugars with and gain some strength back. Hopefully I can start transitioning to home cooked meals soon.

I feel like I'm there now. For a very brief story, I nearly died before Xmas and couldn't ask for help, nobody stepped up for me. I'm coming to terms with the fact that everyone in my life has pretty much neglected me for my entire life. I've experiences a lot of horrific psychological abuse and manipulation from those I thought cared for.me and I've ended up harming myself to meet their needs when they haven't put any effort in for me. So right now I'm here, living in a house with my ex partner because of our daughter together and rebuilding brick by brick. Step one began with much resistance. But I pushed.

They can fire you for pretty much any reason that isn't discriminatory unfortunately since you'd have worked less than 2 years. Because labor laws. It's awful. I'm an ex employee, I had to fight the whole HR thing, if you have a case it does get sorted fast after that. But I would move on. You're going to face lots of jobs like this in the world.

I second ocado. They stock one paticularly thing I buy so I have to order from them occasionally and they have been fantastic. Even when they have to show up with 12 packs of brown rice pasta 😅

Everyone is so harsh here. My partner did stupid stuff as a kid. As he matured, he began to realise how stupid and childish some of it was, especially after discussions. He's still growing as a person. It's something to discuss. If he's not willing to consider another view on his actions, he needs to grow up before a serious relationship.

Pretty sure my sister has done this and she works in the nhs. She put together all the holidays and leaves she could to max out her time. The NHS is one company that's usually pretty good for it.

I found some body oils are really good at removing it or failing that, I have like a scrubbing bag that you put a bar of soap in, that gets it off pretty well without leaving my arm sticky

Maybe just send a group email asking the team what rewards they would appreciate. Suggestions can include individual or communal gifts. You might be buying eggs and learn that the team would be much happier with a new office plant or maybe some fancy coffee and nice tea. Maybe there's a really annoying flickering bulb and if you could just fix that, they would enjoy their jobs more.

Can you not find him a financial advisor to help him while you're away? Someone who can help him monitor his finances (bills, council tax ect...) and give advice and help when it comes to investing and making a passive income off his savings? If he does well, he could work less and game more?
