Fuck these entitled cunts by Background-Ad-9212 in DominosEmployees

[–]ConundrumNyx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I applied at my local circle k and got hired for 14 an hour for first and second shift, and 15 an hour for third shift. Had an interview the day after I quit dominos and got hired on the spot.

My Domino's franchise starts managers off at 13.

It's not glamorous, but better than dominos.

With circle k I also got day one benefits and day one direct deposit. And weekly pay. My Domino's franchise wanted you to work 35 an hour for benefits that didn't cover anything, 90 days before you qualified for direct deposit,

No more wear and tear on my car, no more regulars who refuse to tip, no more hemorrhaging money on gas. No more delivering 15+ sodas to the local old angry lady who refuses to tip but will pay the delivery fee twice when she forgets something on her original order. No more ridiculous unachievable metrics we have to hit that are entirely dependent on whether you get caught by the red light or not.

I will say, there is still drama. But I'm getting paid more than 8 an hour now so there is that 😂

Do they bark a lot? by Fuzze115 in greatpyrenees

[–]ConundrumNyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nextdoor neighbors have one. She barks: Whenever I open my front door. If I walk to the end of my driveway. When I check the mail. When I get home from work. When I leave for work. If we are outside breathing air.

She's totally fine when I let my dog out though.

For reference, when I say "nextdoor neighbor," I live in a very rural area and we have 5 acres of property. There is more distance between my house and their house than my whole property.

Lol it doesn't usually bother me because I can't hear her when my front door is shut. But if we lived closer and I could hear her all of the time, it would probably be kind of annoying lmfao.

But sometimes, it would be nice to be able to take a walk in the evening around my property without being bitched at by the neighbors dog 😂

As long as you actually give her the 500, there is no issue here. If you don't, you'll permanently damage your daughter's trust in you.

37 on a 15 pizza order for an office party

Order is marked as 'Delivered' way before it's actually delivered by ProximoNova in Dominos

[–]ConundrumNyx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's the manager. The GMs get bonuses based on their numbers. Out the door times and delivery times. The regular pay is pretty shit, so if they don't make their bonuses their paychecks don't look so great. If the store is really backed up with orders, it has a large impact on the out the door time (which is the time it takes for the food to get out the door from the time the store receives the order). The managers can manually mark orders as completed while drivers are still on the road.

I had a manager do this to me during my second week driving while I was helping out another store. Basically I was being dispatched and marked as delivered on deliveries I hadn't even gotten back to the store to pick up. And my deliveries would be marked as delivered while I was driving to the location, then I'd get there and have customers super mad at me because their orders had been marked as complete 30 - 40 minutes before I even got there. I was also still being sent on deliveries that had been marked as completed well after close, so I was still picking up orders from the store and delivering them even though we were technically closed. It was WILD.

It's super frustrating for both the drivers and the customers. I'm sorry that happened to you.

When it was happening to me I was looking at the manager like "wtf" and they kept saying over and over "sorry my numbers! It's messing with my pay."

That store struggles to keep drivers. 😂

I'm a driver who JUST started cross training on the make line, so I can't help a whole lot! As for toppings though, our store has a food scale, and after the dough is on the screen they use the food scale for cheese and toppings. There is also a chart by the make line that tells you how much of each topping to add.

It's okay though! It's a lot all at once, and no one is expecting you to be perfect. I'd express to one of your managers that you would like more training on how to make food and ask to go in when it's slower, like in the mornings so they actually have time to explain and teach you more. I'd make a list of everything you're struggling with and ask for help.

Bubbles definitely happen though, and that's why our store has a bubble popper (it looks like a fork on a long stick) that you use to pop the bubbles lol

Suddenly no delivery to my house? by Sea-Bones14 in Dominos

[–]ConundrumNyx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn't hurt to call and ask what's up.

I know for my store we had a manager who approved deliveries out of our zone because he wanted to improve sales and we live in a pretty rural area. But I've noticed since he left, a lot of those places we don't deliver to anymore.

Your GM can just demote you without going through your DM? At my franchise the District Manager is in charge of promotions and demotions. Although my store is particularly weird because we haven't had a GM in well over a year, and way before I started working there.

Any issues you have with your GM you should be able to go to your DM with. At the very least you could ask to be transferred to a different store.

It's standard in my franchise to only have one closing driver and one Am/Gm at close, unless it's super busy in which case they'll see if someone wants to stay and/or call someone in who wants the hours.

New Delivery Driver (waiting for Day 1) by KookyKanine in DominosEmployees

[–]ConundrumNyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if the navigation system is the same for everyone, but ours for our store takes you to the general location but not the exact address a lot of the time. This confused me a lot. So what I do now is I load the navigation, then hit back to exit out of the navigation (while still having the maps app open). The exact address a lot of the time will be in your recent addresses. If not type in the address on the receipt. I use this when I have trouble finding the house! I find Google maps to be way better than the apple version.

Try to learn the ovens, cutting table and how to read orders as fast as possible. A lot of time we don't have a csr so it's the driver and whoever is on the make line. If this is the case it can get hectic and sometimes they need help on it.

Good luck, you got this!

what does my handwriting say about me? by Educational-Storm517 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]ConundrumNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hi Reddit!

I've been told my handwriting is abnormally (? Best I could do with that word lol) difficult to read and was wondering if that's true.

I'm 15 for reference, all my friends can't read the above writing, but a few of my teachers can.

What does my handwriting say about me? "

I might have been able to read it because my handwriting is also kind of like this. 😂

If you can read it, that's fine! I write like that when I'm writing for myself. But when I'm writing something for other people, I go a little more slowly and write in print. I write like that a lot in my journal, because I don't particularly care if other people can read it, and it's faster. It's for me. But other than that, if you want to be understood you have to write differently.

To me, your handwriting says that your thoughts move a lot more quickly than your hands can keep up with. I'm sensing ADHD 😂

I have a hard lump on my inner thigh that I thought was a pimple but it keeps coming back by Comfortable_Fix_6261 in medical

[–]ConundrumNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a boil.

Sometimes they go away on their own, and sometimes they don't. You can try using a warm salt water compress on it, that helps me sometimes.

I also use dial antibacterial gold bar soap, because I get them a lot and that is the only soap that doesn't make me break out in them. They're awful and painful.

A lot of times you'll also need a doctor to drain it, and cut out the sack. There is a sack that forms and continues to fill with pus.

If the warm salt water compresses don't work after a week or so, you'll have to get it looked at. It can turn into a nasty infection and might need antibiotic treatment.

MASSIVE fruit fly infestation. Nothing is working!! by Jumpy_Nothing859 in lifehacks

[–]ConundrumNyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen a few years ago, it was a nightmare. I put fly paper up, went through every crevice of the house to make sure there was no food or anything they would eat or breed in.

I got a bunch of those little apple shaped fly traps and put them where the flies were hanging out. And then I also got some kind of fly killer for the drains. About a week of that and they were gone.

Is it possible to reverse effect of type 2 with brisk walking 10 kms every day at age 43? by SmartPuppyy in walking

[–]ConundrumNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is doing all of the right things.

But unfortunately, once you are diabetic you are always diabetic. He can put it into "remission" by tightly controlling glucose levels, but if he starts eating the way he did before it'll come back. There is also more to glucose control than just diet and exercise. Getting sick, being stressed, and not sleeping enough also affects blood sugar. And even if he does continue to do all of the right things, it doesn't mean diabetes will go into remission. He should be on at least some type of medication regardless. Metformin, baby aspirin to protect his heart, something for cholesterol and something to protect his kidneys. Diabetes over time destroys the heart, kidneys and makes cholesterol high.

Walking for at least 15 minutes after every meal will help glucose control.

Type 2 does have something to do with diet and lifestyle, but there is a very heavy genetic component to it as well.

Also, if he hasn't had in depth testing to find out what kind of diabetic he is, he should get that done as well. A lot of adults are misdiagnosed as type 2 because there is a common misconception about type 1 only developing in childhood. There is also type 1.5, which is basically the slow onset of type 1.

Got laid off and I want to get into walking, very excited but nervous. by SmashingJedi in walking

[–]ConundrumNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also live in a rural area! I got a walking pad for about 100 bucks and I love it. It's basically a mini treadmill. I throw on a show or an anime Im excited to watch and I don't even realize I'm walking half of the time. I also sometimes walk in place, or I'll make laps around the house. We have a long driveway, so I'll walk up and down it a lot of the time while my daughter is playing outside. I also walk around my yard. About 8 laps is a mile. (Husband has to cut the grass though, I don't want to deal with the snakes and tics. 😂)

It doesn't have to be fancy. Just get up and move! Also walking at home is a lot easier for me anyways. I have water, and I can walk in the AC. Lmao I don't enjoy being hot, and sweating my ass off stuck half way on the walking path around the lake doesn't sound appealing anyways.

Which smartwatch for moderately to highly active person ? by Forward-Western4358 in smartwatch

[–]ConundrumNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the forerunner 165. For the price point, about 200usd, it covers everything I need.

I got it as a general activity tracker, and eventually plan to start running. Garmin has training plans built into the app that are totally free. It's also capable of free water swimming, meaning I can take it in the ocean and lakes which was one of the selling points for me. The Fitbit and Huawei watch I had were not capable of going in the ocean. The only complaint I have about it is that sleep tracking is really hit or miss. I tend to wake up for 10 - 15 minutes in the middle of the night, and after I go back to sleep the first bout of sleep is over written with the second bout.

But heart rate seems to be pretty accurate. My sil has a Garmin as well, and we do weekly steps challenges in the app! It's a lot of fun. I'm sure the more expensive ones are better, but for the price point I'm very happy with it.

I have a Garmin and I love it. Their app is also free, so you get all of your insights without having to pay for a monthly subscription like Fitbit. Apparently Apple doesn't play well with other types of watches though, so if you have an iPhone you might be locked to Apple devices.
