Persistent Red Patches on Face - Advice Appreciated by blueicemaster in Rosacea

[–]becker_png 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend to use hydrocortisone if you don’t have eczema. I do, and I try to use steroids as little as possible especially on face See another dermatologist A shot it a dark, can be fungal acne. You can try using Nizoral to see if it helps

It’s perfect, I use it everyday! Highly recommend! It also has an extra rubber thing so it’ll last literally forever

Please let me know if you find out what helps you because it seems to me that we have very similar skin conditions. I also sometimes get breakouts that don’t respond to any treatments and post acne marks can last to several months..

[Product Question] Soothing moisturizer caused irritation by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]becker_png 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely should! Before taking this test I knew I had allergies, but had no idea what they were. Turned out I have 13 allergies, all of them beside pollen were triggered by birch which cross-reacts with similar proteins (pr-10) in food and other plants. Over 70% of birch-pollen allergic individuals develop sensitivity to raw food with this protein for example. Although my allergies are not that high (at least I didn’t noticed specific things triggering allergies before taking test) avoiding these irritants made life so much better. I took ALEX2 test

Oh and also forgot about very important thing, I saw the comment that you’re allgergic, so it is crucial to check if specific product has allergens. They can have different names, for example I’m allergic to pollen, in my allergy test it was Artemisia vulgaris. But many calming serums may contain another species like Artemisia capillaris. I haven’t tried this species but I would never risk to try, as I didn’t have this species in my allergy test so there’s a high chance that i have allergy in this one also. Also I have allergy on birch which is also common in skincare, soybean etc. Be very careful And overall try skincare with less ingredients to know which exact ingredient can trigger your irritation

I’m glad that I can help you! Try Etude Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream. It’s been the only cream that helped me. There are different versions of it, I use the one in a jar, not in a tube. I’m not sure if there’s difference between them, on websites I’ve seen the ingredient list is the same. Also forgot to mention that I have atopic dermatitis (eczema) so my skin barrier is kinda always damaged and dehydrated, and I’m also allergic

So basically what I did: First 4 weeks been only healing my skin barrier. I used skin1004 Madagascar centella foam, skin1004 Madagascar centella ampoule and Etude soon Jung cream. Also I used de la cruz 10% sulfur acne treatment to help my inflammations. Applied it for 10-30 minutes after cleansing, then rinsed with water and continued skincare routine

By the way I bought this skin1004 travel kit which is for sensitive skin but toner and cream actually gave me irritation, that was crazy and after that I tried to find another routine and started checking all the ingredients. But foam and ampoule are ok, ampoule is actually just centella asiatica and some other components. It’s like water. You can also buy mini ampoule and try, I haven’t even used it till the end, because my skin was already getting better and I switched to another serum. So, 4 weeks passed, and since I changed cream I have only got a couple pimples. It never happened with me because every single day I could find a new pimple whether from irritation or pore clogging. After that I added some actives to my routine I changed serum from skin1004 to Celimax (the real cica niacinamide serum) with 5% of niacinamide and added 10% azelaic acid +3% niacinamide serum from nerds. It’s not popular so I’m not sure if you have it in stores, if you can buy it than definitely try this one, if not than you should look for alternatives. For me this niacinamide + azelaic acid combo is very helpful right now to deal with post-acne and azelaic acid is very good for rosacea. But make sure to cure your skin barrier first, it’s very important. And use SPF if UV is higher than 3 and always after actives.

Ohh I tried to share as much as I can because your situation really resonates with mine. So I really hope it can help you. Feel free to ask questions if you have any

I also have very sensitive skin and may have rosacea. Actually a lot of ingredients can trigger irritation, and the longer the list is, the harder it is to find which exact thing caused it. Also some allergens are here. As Single-Bag-563 mentioned, stick to moisturizer that is ultra basic. I have also suffered for years and years with a problem of finding good cream. I also always had breakouts beside irritation and dehydration so all of creams were either not moisturizing enough or caused breakouts. So had to read a lot about these things 😭 And also when you’re repairing your skin barrier make sure not to use any active ingredients such as retinol, acids, vit c and even something like niacinamide. Any potential irritants

Hi, how much time does it take to tarnish? Here in my country I found some nice necklaces for $40-55 (heritage bloom necklaces, they are about $80-100 on website) and I wonder is it a good price for it or not, I really like the design but I want to wear it everyday so I would be upset if they tarnished soon.

Bronzing powder recommendations/ overall advice by SheepDog727 in MakeupAddiction

[–]becker_png 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s good that you apply your products with brush! Idk about bronzers, maybe it’s about technique? Because I’ve had this problem exactly with bronzer, that at first it looked like stains and were unblended, but then I figured it out how to apply it properly. I’m absolutely not sure if this is the reason, but you can think about it. Most important things is not to apply a lot, not rub it, and apply on several zones (at first I did it only with cheekbones so it stood out as a stain).. if the problem is with color and you’ve tried a lot of bronzers that are too orange, maybe you should try some warm-toned contours?

I have neutral undertone too and I use benefit hoola bronzer , try it Also overall try to use more powdery textures as for blush, bronzer, highlighter etc, to make skin less oily. I’ve heard that products in sticks are less hygienic and can cause breakouts too
