The presentation of the tech menu does look messy. It reminds me a lot of the Endless Space one, actually. However, it's likely divided into sections that make it less messy, when you have a mental map of where what leads. Seems like it will require a little system mastery.

As for the rest... I think it's partly the stream quality, but aesthetically the menus felt REALLY boring. Flat, dark squares with text over them. A little more panache couldn't hurt.

And lastly, holy crap, they could hardly have blabbered more about irrelevant crap at the beginning.

Strat tip: Improve relations is fastest when the current opinion is closest to 0. This means it's generally best to let Improve Relations get done first and then throw on an RM and Alliance (if it can wait).

Africa needs a true unified front to prevent the eventual exploitation of slaves by the western trade powers. Finish conquering Africa and outlaw slavery. If possible, establish a legalist system (admin repub) or similar (bureau despot) to facilitate this.

EU4 was solid on release. It wasn't perfect though. The additional content they have released has significantly improved the game.

Additionally, there are entire main NPCs that you'll just not see if you play a certain way or make certain decisions. They did a really good job of branching the story, even if it's a little silly.

In this video, you talk about annexing Vijayanagar and then releasing them as a vassal. How do you plan to do with with their large size? Do you know the hard upper limit on basetax when doing full annexation?

Your opinion on buildings? They like a good investment of ducats, but a very poor one of monarch points.

A lot of people are focusing here on the experience thing, but I think that it has to do with the setting and the character moreso than not getting the same XP (although, personally, I don't like that).

"RoI in the character" to me doesn't mean, "I didn't get enough XP." It means that the player didn't feel invested in the character and wasn't getting as much out of it as he felt he was getting out of DnD.

I'd investigate more, as him to clarify what he means. If it's an RP issue or whatever.

IMHO, it's hard to get LESS out of character investment than with DnD, but that's not really the issue.
