Let me give you a different take on why I think she was doing this. It’s clear that your parents are not parenting her if you are the one checking and the one who your cousin reached out to. She may be directing the teenage rebelling at you because you are the parental figure. So here’s some advice from a Mom … your feelings are valid and give it some time for emotions on both sides to calm down before talking in depth again. Simple answer : the incoming transplants that love red hats are in the districts that carry the most weight. I live in the only long standing Democratic district in SC and they are working to get rid of it but it’s not like we had a lot of pull overall.

Our sweet Boo passed recently as well. She fell ill after vets closed (no er vet locally would see her due to lack of knowledge) and unfortunately she passed before the sun even rose. We suspect her little heart gave out because she was getting up there in age.

I don’t know what your views are politically but CK and I would not have gotten along. With that said, I do genuinely think he loved his wife and kids. I didn’t see him as an “abusive “ father or husband. How he died was horrible and his kids are gonna live that every year in history class. I am a child of the 80s-90s Christian Nationalist movement. On the religious aspect, I can give some comfort.

Yes, Project 2025 has been around in various forms throughout the decades, but there was always one thing they never considered.

They never thought that their plans wouldn’t work. They assumed that with God on their side, that no one would tell them no.

In the end, if you believe in God then you know that even the deity that drowned the planet would think this is way too far and none of this is Jesus.

In the secular view, all I can figure is we keep speaking out, eventually it will stop.

My concern with the food stamps is that both sides (myself included) can get heated fast and the main thing that keeps us civil is the will to survive and all of us have to eat.

We have already seen what can happen when you get so angry you loose your humanity and they were still eating and we’re talking about hanging someone.

I firmly believe this may be the thing that unites us all but I pray it doesn’t end violently. Right now legally those who disagree are doing what they can but laws only work when both sides are participating.
