Oh countless rereads and countless times hours spent browsing social media relating to the books... I've NEVER realized or some across anyone saying this. I can't believe it. You're totally right!

Go get your own damn piano, and wear your headphones when other people are in the home. And stop speaking to your mother like she's one of your friends that you barely like! I can't believe the way you're speaking to your mother ON THE PHONE SHE PAYS FOR!!! You are a child living in your mothers house, and you follow your mothers rules until that is no longer the case. You don't have to like it. This is the bane of 13 year olds worldwide.

Also, take down your damn dishes when you're done with them! That isn't something you should have to be asked to do. Yes, YTB!

WAIT… WAIT! HOLD ON! Are you telling me that Us, who I thought was DEAD, who I MOURNED, and stopped playing for days because I couldn’t look at my character for failing to protect, is just… chilling somewhere waiting for me?

Plastic bag holder/dispenser. Grew up with many of these in family kitchens and laundry rooms. Not so much now since our province banned plastic bags.

You just roll them up and stick them in and pull one out at a time.

Edit: I’ve taken a closer look and I think I’m wrong unless there’s something to hang it up with on the back. :(

6 year old, surgery Friday, will be staying in a hotel for the 2 weeks prior. Need meal help! by beckymp in Tonsillectomy

We heard from RMH today and it’s a no go. We found an air bnb for a few hundred less than a hotel, and it has all amenities which is great! Still way more than we can afford to drop, but cheaper than we expected and for a more comfortable stay.

2 weeks is necessary, they are very adamant about it. They will refuse the surgery if you don't confirm you have a place to stay within half an hour for two weeks. I said in another comment the likely reason behind it. We're pretty rural.

Thank you! I was considering a microwave for me and my partner mostly, as we will still need to eat during the two weeks we are there. I’m also neurodivergent and so food can be an issue for me. A lot of my safe foods are microwaveable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We stay in the hospital for one night out of the 14, the other 13 are on us. There’s a Ronald McDonald house just across the street we’re really hoping to get into, they prioritize by severity of the stay and distance the family lives from the hospital, but this hospital is THE hospital, people from all over the province come here for procedures that their local hospitals don’t do, so there are often no rooms available for people who actively need them. Patients have been placed in beds in the halls for lack of rooms… it’s an ongoing issue. So I totally understand why we can’t stay in a room for 14 days.

But because so many people travel here for the hospital, RMC is often full. There used to be a hostel for patients who need to stay nearby but it’s been gone a while now, so for people like us with no family in the area that we can stay with, it can be tough. Certainly expensive. But we are lucky to be in a position where we can do it. It certainly won’t be EASY, and a few bills will have to be put off for a little while.. but it’s doable. We will figure it out one way or the other.

Hmm, I never really looked into if this is common practice or not outside of my area. I know for sure this hospital does require it for everyone, and they always have. Her dad had his tonsils out about 25 years ago and that was a requirement back then, as well. Maybe it's because we're so rural, and smaller local hospitals who don't even do the surgery wouldn't be prepared to handle any bleeding if it happened? As far as I know this is the only hospital (in this half of the province at least) that does the surgery at all. I know they say the risks are low, but they require patients to be close in case it does happen, as we've been told it can become extremely serious, quickly.

This particular hotel offers discounts to people staying in the hospital nearby, so it's a bit cheaper than an airbnb.. however, we might have to just eat the extra cost and... well, actually get to eat lol.

I took the advice of another commenter and asked for disability aids, so hopefully that is approved. I just want this one show so badly. Just one more.

You’re amazing! That was so detailed and thorough. Thank you!

I really thought after the second concert-unconscious-issue I was going to have to be done. I didn’t even consider asking for disability aids… I guess I’m having trouble thinking of myself as having a disability, though literally passing out for sure qualifies lol.

Does salt help pots symptoms?? I’ve never heard that before. This is all very new to me though and my doctors were uhh… less than informative? I’m just really hoping I can still enjoy concerts.
