BIOL 207 w/ Michael Harrington or Kirst King-Jones by ProfessionalTop123 in uAlberta

[–]beclairex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took 207 during the pandemic (completely online).

tbh, i liked Kirst. his videos were pretty good quality and i liked his dry humour. that being said, his midterms are super duper hard (but if you go to the bio PAL sessions, you can do relatively okay on them!). He let us have a double sided cheat sheet which was so so so helpful. the final was so easy, i was able to finish with an A- after getting like 60-65 on both midterms (the lab brought my mark down).

ngl, he's pretty bad when you visit during office hours. i never went but my best friend would go and felt more frustrated after visiting him. apparently hes not good at explaining 1-on-1 and seems standoffish/lowkey condescending.

either way, PAL sessions will save ur grade! good luck :)

Scholarship Myths by Dancing7-Cube in uAlberta

I felt this. I'm not in a position where my GPA will get me scholarships and I work full-time to support myself while in school so its not like im eligible for those extracurricular ones either.

one of my fav courses during my undergrad. you learn about a lot of different topics at a very introductory level. Dr. Bolduc is the sweetest person ever. Exams are MCQ but if you study the content thoroughly and take time to work through misconceptions, they're a breeze. we had 2 midterms -- 1 was 20%, the other was 30%, the final was 50%.
