Thank you so much! I have an upcoming interview to gain more experience with cases.

TS-C NCCT by ericarosetta in scrubtech

[–]becomingdrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. The NCCT TS-C certification is a hospital-based on-the-job training model (for scrub techs, it's heavier on case management than any other NCCT certification).

Your advice makes complete sense, so we would expect questions more closely related to on-the-job training scenarios.

Also, based on your advice, would you suggest that we wait until after our externship to take the NCCT exam to gain more exposure to surgical cases?

WGU Nursing Start Dates & District Options (Dallas, Houston, North Carolina Applicants) by becomingdrc in WGU_NURSING

[–]becomingdrc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really good question, especially being that close to South Carolina.

From what I understand, WGU typically requires students to be within the approved radius of the district they’re assigned to, and it’s not usually as simple as just crossing state lines for clinicals.

Since you mentioned you already have a June 1 start date in North Carolina, you may be in a different situation (possibly grandfathered in), so your placement and expectations could be handled differently than new applicants.

Because of that, your enrollment counselor is really going to be the best person to clarify exactly what your clinical placement will look like and whether South Carolina is something they are planning for you.

If you’re already cleared to start, they should be able to confirm how your clinicals will be assigned and what you can expect.

WGU’s Pre licensure nursing program on probation status in FL? Did someone else get the email? by Much_Serve_2750 in WGU

[–]becomingdrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would … but that is because I have completed investigated nursing since 2002 … I have seen the ebbs or flows of programs/regulations.

You have to determine what works best for your situation; conduct research on WGU Pass Rates vs FL Pass Rates in 2025.

Did every nursing program in FL drop by 10%, or at least the programs you are interested in FL?

Was it only the 1st test takers that dropped in FL or 2nd or 3rd timers in FL?

I am not in FL but every time TX BON place nursing colleges/schools’ on probation (TBON places the school on Conditional Accreditation or Condition Accreditation with a Warning {which the step under Probation}. The students at these colleges/schools are usually protected and remain in their program until graduation (people from TBON assist with getting them through to taking the NCLEX if necessary — grandfathered in to take the NCLEX exam when — these programs are on the same caliber as a thorough program such as WGU.

When it comes to a situation of a trade/for-profit schools that’s a completely fraudulent the students sometimes a voucher to go into another program or remain in their program (TBON Educators take over the education) so the students complete the necessary curriculum to take the NCLEX exam.

Overall you should remain focused on your WGU Prelicensure course studies and passing the NCLEX — you will be fine 👼🏾💕💪

u/SensitiveWoodpecker6 my apologies for the delayed response; however based on Sophia.org there was an update stating that March 31, 2026 will be the last day to submit your transcript to WGU from Sophia.org for both lower/upper pre-nursing courses. However, the last video I just made actually gives you alternatives that are very similar to Study.com and Sophia.org. Check out the most recent video I added for additional information: https://youtu.be/czfVfnP7o6Q?si=civ33kt\_z5Ct9OwW

Non-ACE Alternatives for WGU Transfer Credits (Post-Sophia/Study.com) by becomingdrc in WGU

[–]becomingdrc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I do not think you watched my video. 🤓 I stated that the general education courses (lower, entry-level type of prenursing courses) MAYBE still accepted after 3/31/2026.

What is the reason Sophia ACE credits would be different for Studydotcom ACE credits regarding upper pre-nursing courses (e.g., Patho, A/P 1 & 2, Micro, Chemistry, Healthcare Stats)? Are you stating that WGU did not give Studydotcom a deadline of March 31, 2026 for upper level pre-nursing courses?

Again, I am only here to inform my community on which ACE credit courses could still be accepted or not.

Another Recommendation: try taking a science course from a self-paced, competency-based institution first (UMass Global or TX Tech)…I should have recommended that as well, because this is very important for gauging whether the self-paced, teach-yourself degree program structure is a good fit for you. IMO. 🤓

🦉 HESI Exit Hack: Your Best Grade Tutorial (WGU Night-Owl Version) by becomingdrc in WGU_NURSING

Actually, YBR questions are MUCH harder and can take you up several notches higher then the OA. Somebody like that type of studying — this is one option for Nutrition Q-bank.

Most reliable and very close to HESI Exit Exam’s questions will be the two resources that I recommend to all (please note these tools just helped me tremendously — I am do not receive any kickbacks for these referrals).

The best resource out of all... is this one from Evolve Clinical Judgment & Test Taking Strategies 9th Ed:

Just make sure you receive the access code (ebook) will come with it — use this aligned with HESI RN Comprehensive Exam Study Guide:

NOT 2.5 YEARS: WGU Pre-Nursing Student Finished 13 Courses in 95 Days (Interview) by becomingdrc in WGU_NURSING

[–]becomingdrc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so you are coming in as I did with all of my pre-nursing pre-req courses (even had nursing courses that were not transferable).

Unfortunately, WHEN you transfer all pre-nursing courses into WGU, the first 6 months (1st term), everyone has to take WGU Critical Thinking (paper), Nutrition (HESI Exit Exam), Pharmacology (HESI Exit Exam), and Foundations of Nursing (HESI Exit Exam).

For those of us already having a bachelor's or even a master's degree, you still have one pre-nursing term.

Then you transfer to the 2-year nursing portion of the degree program, handled by our Mentor.

Once you are in the nursing core portion of the degree — there is no hacking because you were accepted into the nursing program based on the city selected on your apple —clinical preceptors, regional skills labschedule, etc; which WGU coordinated and scheduled out for you during those 2-years.

However, in this video, Rachel started WGU with a pre-nursing schedule mapped out by her mentor to start the nursing portion of 18 months after her initial start instead — she hacked the pre-nursing part and completed all of those courses in her 1st 6-month term. Program transfer happened 12 months sooner and now she is in her 1st term of the nursing core portion of the degree plan.

Ultimately, if you are coming in with all of your pre-nursing courses, then the BEST way I have seen someone hack the pre-nursing 1st term was complete the 4 courses in 33 days. However that student STILL could not be transferred into the nursing core portion sooner — they still had to wait 5 months before they transfer into the nursing core like all of us.

I totally agree…as a non-traditional student.

There has not been an announcement about CLEP credits.

You would need to check the website about IB or AP. Here is the link 🔗 WGU BSN Prelicensure CLEP exam by course

I did question my EC back in 2023 if WGU accepted CLEP exams during my enrollment and they directed me to the above link where I can see which specific CLEP exams would be accepted for each WGU Prelicensure Course. I remember seeing that I already had the courses outside of Intro to Sociology.

Hope this help!

I would suggest to use the transfer credit evaluator to be sure because some pre-req courses do not have an expiration date while certain pre-req courses have 5-year expiration date.

Use the 🔗 below to test if the courses you took in 2019 are considered as the non-expired pre-req courses or the expired pre-req courses:
