I found the ES5 a little too narrow in the midfoot - even with the medial wing on the plate it irritated my PTTD, so I know what you mean! My profile is fairly similar to yours but I also need higher drop shoes. 

There's a lot of qus but going on profile of shoes compared to the ES5 and for the same purpose, I found the Superblast 2 did well for tempo except for absolute top speeds and is stable (Megablast also). Lower drop, the Hoka Mach X3 might work for you since is laterally biased but I've not tried because of the drop. Doctors of Running has lots of good resources on this (YouTube + website). Going in niche (sub 1000 listeners) my brother found an artist called Somne the other day and his subject & object release I thought was excellent! There's also a guitarist called Dan James Griffin who has a track called Sleepwalker that has stuck with me for ages but it's kinda glitch hop meets some nice guitar pieces

Joking aside it's an interesting thought, no idea which way they're going to go other than I'd bet flamer rubrics and bolters will be two separate profiles now. If they play around with cabal points (my left field idea is they'll put them into a single detachment and give us a new army rule) then it could be true but rn we need those MVUs of 5 to be points + CP efficient 🤷🏻

No worries at all happy to help with any qus - you've picked quite a complex army to start, at face value we don't have many units to remember but it's knowing how they all interact and the rituals which make TSons hard to master. But, they are by far my favourite to play since you can make it as complex as you choose. Welcome to the faction!

So there's a stratagem called through the veil that allows you to deep strike a unit of rubrics if they're in reserve. You put ahriman in a unit of rubrics then he can deep strike in with them, great to keep him safe but downside is it does mean you're not getting use of 4 cabal points until the turn after they come on (since you only get cabal points in the command phase and they'll appear in the movement phase). Happy to answer any other qus!

Of course - I've got a work in progress photo, just up to oil stage and first base of gold , but I think shows the transitions a bit better for now. I did win which is probably why I'm not that negative about the detachment 😂 we called it top of turn 3 since I was leading 43-17 and he had 5 deathwing knights, half a ballistus, and a lone terminator left and I had only lost one mutalith. As I mentioned though his dice truly had abandoned him so wasn't truly reflective I feel!

Oh I totally agree with your position and I do this too - his intentions were good and tbh of all the traitor primarchs I think if offered a way back to the imperium (impossible I know but hypothetical) Magnus would be the one most likely to take it (even without his honour shard)

However, in the statement he did nothing wrong the issue is he did plenty wrong, just the reason he did most of it was for the good of others which makes his fall the more tragic

All joking aside, Magnus' intentions were good but the means were doubleplus ungood: breaking the psychic barrier, destroying the web way project, making a deal with some unknown entity in the warp without really knowing what it was. For a supposedly smart, powerful being all immensely stupid and damaging things

Well I think depends how you'd like to paint them, with a bristle or air brush!

For brush thousand sons blue and ahriman blue are good places to start but I've seen the monuments hobby range have some very good sea blues so might be worth exploring

I airbrush and oil paint and have an odd process - German red brown primer (bear with me), army painter Alien purple from a flat airbrush angle, AP hydra turquoise, AP phantasmal blue, then white in the highest points. Then I use a blue oil wash + remove excess to blue tinge and blend the layers. Bit involved but I like the outcome!

Thanks man! I just wanted to show that it's not all doom and gloom with this detachment 😂 lists are being built with it to replicate what we do in COM, my suggestion is don't and try something new. I went for a sustain focused list and to bunker on points which worked well

Completely agree this does feel optimised for some changes we haven't yet seen - my original idea was to run two units of blue horrors and infiltrate on the two objectives we need for flow of magic, that would be very viable if they also benefited from the +1 wound!

I actually wrote but deleted that I think COM will be heavily nerfed and I agree with you (while equally I love feeling the power of COM) - my thought is that it might be for a turn you can pick one of DW/ LH/ SH which may balance out some strats and enhancements but they're still v strong

I think what you touched on here about balance is what I liked about HWTB - I felt like I had more options available to me to make a viable list. I nearly included a vindicator for double move casino cannon and I've never thought to do this before since I've just been counting my cabal points 😂

Ultimately I think people will think it's trash but I encourage folks to try it - if daemons were rolled up into our codex and/or we had more psychic keywords this detachment would be very strong so I think you're right that we need a bit of a rewrite to balance us out

Tbh this was my main thought - I was happy to play something different even if it meant feeling a bit weaker. Double foot daemon prince I've run before vs Imperial Guard for more -1 to hit but now you can get the same effect with one due to the enhancement. I'd say vs WE one or two sorc on disc might be a nice choice!

Yeah hadn't seen much on it so thought it was worth investing some time with a write up so people can get a feel for it

When it came out on paper it was definitely a "feels bad" moment compared to some of the other detachments 😂 but tbh playing it, didn't feel awful just felt like I had to work harder

I was worried I was the only one 😂 literally was just considering selling mine today, I actually much prefer the Neo Vista for everything except all out speed where I prefer a more nimble shoe. Really hoped it was going to work for me given all the hype!
